He had no idea what was going on but Marc wasn't feeling right. Maybe it was this whole darkness thing or maybe it was something worse but no matter what it was driving him up a wall. He was having a hard time relaxing and doing nothing as he often did. Keeping his attention on a book was difficult and with being on edge as he felt, he wasn't comfortable with going around others. When he'd asked Theo about it, the kid shrugged and said he didn't understand anything in the locale that went on. It was all a mystery. And Marc really hated mystery novels so why would he like a real life one? Eventually, he ended up outside and exercising in the backyard of the house. It wasn't the biggest of spaces but it was fenced off well enough that he didn't have to worry too much about prying eyes - even though he felt a pair on him briefly when he started. Elisabeth, he assumed, who still thought she was his ex-wife named Patrisha. He wasn't sure how long he was out there but he was beginning to feel fatigue when he felt eyes on him a second time. Marc stopped from where he was doing pushups in the grass to stand up, pull off his shirt and wipe his face with it before going, "Okay, who's staring?" Normally he'd welcome eyes but half his senses felt a mess so he didn't need or want the additional irritants to them. |
