Who: Cora Hale and (OPEN) What: Cora has a moment. Where: The beach. When: 11/30 Rating: TBD Status: In progress
Cora was trying to be better at being with people. Letting people in, letting them help her through her problems. She really was. There were times though when she couldn't make the words come out, times when her emotions got to be too much. This was one of those times. She wasn't sure if it was the holidays or seeing someone else go through the pain of losing their mother that made missing her own so much more intense. Whatever it was, it had hit her like a ton of bricks. Scribbling a note for Stiles, she had slipped on her running shoes and coat and fled out into the night.
She ran and ran until she found herself standing on the beach. It was ironic since she had spent so much of her time in Storybrooke avoiding the beach but without the bonfires and the people, it felt safe. Nothing but her enhanced eyesight to steer her, Cora made her way to the shoreline. The frigid ocean water lapping almost soothingly at her feet. Looking up, she caught sight of the moon.
"Hello Mom," she whispered softly. "It...It's me, Cora." She laughed softly and rolled her eyes. "As if you didn't know who I was." There was so much she wanted to tell her mother. About Derek and how she thought maybe for once he had found someone who could help him forgive himself. About Stiles and how happy she was with him. Her eyes stung with tears and she covered her mouth to stifle the sob that threatened to come out.
"I miss you so much."
Sighing softly, Cora stepped back away from the edge of the water and sat down in the cold sand. Pulling her legs to her chest, she kept her eyes trained on the moon. She wouldn't stay long. Note or not, she didn't want Stiles to worry and come looking for her.
