Lily was used to how James could be at times but that didn't mean it didn't still sting when it was directed towards her. It would have been easy for her to go and try to explain to him why she'd asked for more time but she didn't feel like it right then. She just felt like going back to her room, climbing into her bed and ignoring everyone and everything until the next day. "You're probably right about that," she told him getting up from his couch and heading towards the door. She stopped with her hand on the doorknob and debated with herself about going back to give him a kiss, like she always did when they were saying goodnight. Even if it was only the cheek but she wasn't sure if he'd want a kiss from her right then. Not while he was convinced that she didn't want to live with him.
"I love you James," she told him, as she opened the door and left. Closing it behind her without waiting to hear if he responded or not.
