Snow hummed softly to herself as she wandered through the aisles of the local market. A list. She should have brought a list. Without a list, it was so easy to lose focus and end up wandering aimlessly. Then again, it was possible that she would have still been lost in her thoughts even if she'd thought to write out the things she needed. Walking through the aisles and aimlessly picking up items to toss in her basket was as much an attempt to clear her head as it was to make sure the panty was well-stocked. She did need to pick up a few things, but she also needed to think. The way people kept showing up through the portals was both strange and a little unsettling. Snow was deeply grateful that Storybrooke hadn't been destroyed, but she still didn't trust Regina and she worried about what else might be coming. New people were arriving almost every day. Would Storybrooke continue to hold them all? None of them could leave town, so she hoped it would. Snow's heart went out to those people, thrust into this strange new place without warning or a way home. She knew they all grew frustrated and she wanted to help them. She did what she could, of course, welcoming many of them personally, even presenting some with care packages of food or whatever else she might need. Maybe it was because she understood how it felt to be displaced like this, unable to go home. Her experiences hadn't been exactly the same, but she empathized all the same and she felt like it was her duty to help these people as much as she could. Unfortunately, she was of little help figuring out how to reverse what Regina and Emma's magic had seemingly created. Portals and people randomly waking up in the wrong bodies. It was all very strange and as she wandered through the produce section, picking up fruits and vegetables to gently lay in her basket, she couldn't help wishing she just had something to fight. That was something she could do so much more easily than just sitting back and waiting for someone else to figure out how to fix things. |
