Melissa hadn't particularly wanted to wake up. She was the sort who enjoyed her sleep, and enjoyed when she was able to sleep in. So when she found herself slowly waking up, there was a soft groan. She didn't want to wake up. That was until she realized that she wasn't alone in her bed. This had was the second time she'd awoken with someone in her bed recently. John was the first person she'd woken up beside in a long time, especially ever since Scott had grown out of needing to sleep in his mother's bed on occasion. But Scott hadn't counted. He had been a child. And her son.
She curled up next to the warm body beside her, refusing to open her eyes just yet. Her arm wrapped around his waist, and there was a small smile when it appeared as though he was waking up as well. Her eyes opened, and the smile grew a bit when her gaze fell on John. She found that she rather enjoyed it when he stayed the night. She didn't mind that they weren't completely sexual at the moment. She didn't mind taking it slow, especially since the last man she'd slept with had been Scott's father, years ago. Taking time with these things was a brilliant idea.
But that didn't change the fact that she liked waking up beside John. She wanted to do it more often.
"I'm not sure I like you enough to make you pancakes, John," she murmured. She was still a bit groggy, she hadn't had her coffee yet. It didn't occur to her that maybe John was offering to make the pancakes.
