Sleeping next to Audrey had been an adjustment. After so many years not being able to feel anything, Nathan hadn't been prepared for how the presence of another person in bed with him, one he could feel, would affect things. But suddenly there was extra warmth and the weight of an arm around him, and it had taken some work to settle and just sleep. But he wouldn't complain because the alternative, not having Audrey there next to him, was unacceptable. So he'd adapted. And now, he was pretty used to waking up to find his girlfriend draped over him in the morning, a warm and welcome weight against his chest.
That didn't mean he was prepared to wake up to more of a warm weight than he was used to, or to find that the head resting on his chest had less hair and considerably more stubble than he was used to. But it was Audrey, because he could feel the person and that was only true with one person. So, apparently, something had happened that had turned Audrey into a guy. Probably something to do with the crazy magical town with its crazy magical portals. Okay. He could deal with that. Honestly, waking up to find his girlfriend was suddenly more of a boyfriend was probably one of the least unsettling things Nathan had ever woken up to, all things considered. And, unlike all the things they had to deal with in Haven, this seemed fairly non-threatening. So, he figured he'd roll with it, and they'd sort out how to deal with this after breakfast.
"Morning," he said, voice still rough with sleep, leaning down to kiss his...to kiss Audrey. The stubble was weird, but he'd deal. He didn't care if Audrey was suddenly a guy. He loved her, so he'd deal. "I'm going to go make pancakes. And coffee. Feel free to borrow some clothes." Dragging himself out of bed, he pulled on some boxers and a discarded t-shirt and made his way into the kitchen. Yeah. Definitely a morning for pancakes.
