Snow sprinkled a bit of cinnamon over the mugs of cocoa on the counter, feeling a bit better now that Charming wasn't working late yet another night in a row. Even the best men needed some rest, even if the situation the town found itself in was better for thee work he and Emma were doing. Wrapping a hand around each of the steaming mugs of hot chocolate—she was a bit over tea at the moment—she walked back toward the small sofa and handed one to him. She reclaimed her seat next to him, leaning into him as she crossed one leg over the other and let out a small sigh. "I feel awful sitting here while all of this is happening, while Henry's still out there but I can't say it's not nice to have a quiet night." Even as she said it, she felt guilty for even considering a quiet night while other's were less comfortable but there was so little she could do for them. They'd been trying for a month now to find a way out of Storybrooke, mostly for Henry's sake but every attempt had ended in the same, fruitless result. Looking up at him, she offered him a small, half-hearted smile. At least he was here, right? Too often they'd been separated at the moments when they needed each other most. They had each other here and if there was any way they were going to find a solution to what was happening it was going to be together. It was that which gave her comfort even when her feeling of helplessness made her uneasy. |
