Henry'd had a long day at work, and he desperately hoped that Anne of Cleves would be home when he arrived. He and Anne hadn't exactly gotten along when they were married, but now Henry found that he enjoyed her company. He found, now, that he could have very easily remained married to her. And perhaps been happy about it, had he gotten to know the woman. But that hadn't happened, and he and Anne had gotten a divorce. And he had proceded to marry Catherine Howard. Which ended up being a mistake, it seemed. Before he had been pulled into Storybrooke, he had just agreed to put his current wife to death. He idly wondered if that had happened yet, or if time in England was paused or something while he was here in this Maine.
While Henry was used to working hard, working at the college was a different sort of work that he wasn't accustomed to. It took a different sort of patience than being King of England did, and he knew that his patience wore thin at times as King. He could only imagine how his students took him, and took his short temper. He knew his faults, though that wasn't to say he took the time to actually attempt to correct these faults.
Henry had stopped by the Greek restaurant to pick up some food to bring home for dinner before heading home from work. He had made sure to bring Anne some food as well, he was at least somewhat considerate some of the time. He had also found a store that sold wine, and picked up a bottle of wine as well. He had a weakness for food and wine, and he felt the need to have wine with a majority of his meals.
When he finally stepped into the apartment he shared with Anne, it was a bit late. Not too terribly late, but later than he usually arrived home. "Anne, are you here?" he called as he made his way into the kitchen. He had quickly learned that if he wanted things, he would have to start getting things himself. Like plates for dinner, dinner itself. He grabbed two plates from the cupboard, along with two wine glasses. "Are you hungry?"
