Kenzi's stomach was grumbling and she was in need of sustenance. For how often she was hungry and how much she ate, she probably shouldn't be as tiny as she was. She certainly wasn't going to complain. But right now she needed a cheeseburger and some pie from Granny's. And that was where she was heading. Part of her needing to get out for some food had to do with the empty apartment she used to share with her best friend. Her sista from another mista. With Bo gone, the emptiness was overwhelming. No amount of rocky road ice creamed helped either. She was just happy that she still had Hale and Dyson. She was about to walk into Granny's when she spotted a very familiar brunette. Leather and all. Kenzi squealed, racing her way towards Bo. Or at least as fast as she could manage in the heels she was wearing. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I'VE BEEN SO WORRIED!" Kenzi yelled, throwing her arms around her best friend. Bo was not having the best of days. Honestly, the last few weeks hadn’t been so great. Today, though, everything had just gone from kind of bad to completely horrible. Kenzi was missing. Only there was this thing wearing her face. Rather than believe her when she tried to tell the others that whatever it was definitely wasn’t Kenzi, though, they’d thrown her in a holding cell. And then things got really weird. One minute, she was sitting in a cell and the next minute she was... in a forest? What the hell? Bo hadn’t been exploring for very long when someone she’d never seen before approached her. Bo was wary, but she listened to their explanation with what she thought was great patience. And then she ignored the fact that they said she couldn’t leave and started looking for a way out. When Kenzi came running toward her, Bo pushed her away. “You’re not Kenzi,” she said through gritted teeth, glaring at the girl who looked like her best friend. “I don’t know what you are, but you are NOT her.” A hurt look flash across Kenzi's face as Bo pushed her away. Her face fell, her mouth hung open as if she were going to say something but nothing was coming out. That was not at all the reaction she had been expecting. They were Bo&Kenzi. They were…they were like sisters. "Bo. What do you mean? I AM Kenzi," she finally said, staring at Bo. She was almost afraid to go near her again. Kenzi wasn't sure she could handle Bo pushing her away again. "Did something happen? Where have you been? We've been worried. We thought you disappeared…" The last time she acted this way…she almost ended up married to Ryan. Part of her worried that he was here. Or that fae that was responsible. "Is Ryan here? Did he do this?" “Disappeared? What are you talking about? You know I’ve been in that stupid holding cell ever since you told everyone I was killing again!” She should have known whatever this was wearing Kenzi’s face wouldn’t just admit to anything. Bo obviously didn’t believe her, so she really didn’t know why she was still trying to convince her. It wasn’t going to happen. Bo had known that thing wasn’t Kenzi even before it brought her coconut ice cream. Ew. Seriously, who even liked that stuff. “I am going to find the real Kenzi and then I’m going to kick your ass,” she promised. Maybe not even in that order. It had been an awfully long time since she’d fed and she didn’t believe for a second this was really her best friend. She gave Bo a confused expression. "Killing again? What are you talking about? The good doctor cured you of that." Even if Kenzi wasn't the biggest fan of Lauren she could at least recognize that she helped Bo in that way. "Why would I…" Kenzi just didn't understand why Bo would even think that. Maybe she should have remembered a couple of months ago when she'd arrived here. About her being kidnapped and Inari and everything she had done to her. But Kenzi was good at repressing things. At taking bad memories and locking them up so tight and tucking them far, far away. "I AM THE REAL KENZI!" she shouted at her. They probably looked crazy but she didn't care. For the first time since Lauren left she found herself wishing the Doc was here. She didn't know what was wrong with Bo. "I can call Dyson. Maybe he can talk some sense into you. On our way to the hospital…" “STOP SAYING THAT! YOU ARE NOT KENZI! YOU MIGHT HAVE THE OTHERS FOOLED, BUT YOU DON’T FOOL ME!” It didn’t matter that she looked exactly like Kenzi. It didn’t even matter that she was acting like the Kenzi she knew and loved. No one believed her. Not Trick, not Dyson, not even Lauren. Bo knew she wasn’t crazy, though. She knew something had happened to the real Kenzi. She didn’t know how, but she knew it in her bones. She wasn’t going to make this.. imposter make her doubt that. “You’re the one who’s going to need a hospital if you don’t tell me WHAT THE HELL YOU’VE DONE WITH KENZI!” |
