Who:Sheriff John and Melissa Where: Granny's Diner When: Sunday, September 8th. What: John and Melissa are on a date not-date. Rating: Probably not very but PG 13 just incase? Lol. Status: In progress.
John was nervous. He had no reason to be nervous but there it was. He had showered and changed clothes twice before he finally made it out the door, calling a good night to Stiles and reminding him to go to bed on time. School was in the morning.
He didn't care what Stiles had said. This wasn't a date and neither he or Melissa had any mixed assumptions that it was one. But Stiles' words had worried him. What if Melissa did think it was a date? This Melissa was not the Melissa he left back home but she had come not too long before he had. She knew what her son was but she had not been there when they'd been captured with Allison's father. He was secretly thankful for that. He realized the Melissa back home still had suffered, but he was grateful for any time someone didn't have to suffer and this Melissa here had not had to. She still, however, knew of her son's being a werewolf and so that was good. She could help him come to terms with his still new knowledge of the supernatural.
Pulling on his coat, he locked up the place. He'd been moved in with his son once he arrived and he was grateful. He couldn't imagine not living with his son nearby for him to look after. He realized that Stiles was growing up and had grown a lot with everything that happened, but he was still his father and Stiles was not yet eighteen. He would keep his role as guardian for as long as he was able.
He made his way to the apartment across from his and Stiles', number 302, and he found himself smiling. Apparently, Chris Argent and Allison were in 301 and many on this floor were from Beacon Hills. At least he didn't have to worry for his son's safety too much, surrounded by so many who knew and cared for him. Melissa and Scott most of all and they'd been right next door. Still, he would never stop feeling relieved that he was here now as well and he would have to try to ignore the feeling of betrayal and abandonment for his son back home. Melissa and Scott were still there and would watch out for him, as Melissa had done here. He only wished there was some way to let Stiles know he was okay. He was safe.
Taking a deep breath and pushing it out of his mind, John knocked upon the McCall's door and waited. He slipped his hands into his pockets, suddenly feeling more than a little anxious.
