Who: Lois Lane-Queen & Tess Mercer.
What: Meeting Tess Mercer.
Where: Granny's.
When: A couple of hours after this.
Rating: PG13 likely.
Status: Incomplete.
Her arrival in Storybrooke had been a shock to her senses, if only because it was the last thing she had ever expected. It had thrown her for a loop, but Lois Lane-Queen wasn't going to let it stumble her for too long. She instead took it in stride as best she could if only until she found out how to get home. The old her would probably have fought against her fate and demanded to get back, but the truth was that Lois was just so freaking tired. Yes, she had things to do back home, but there was that tiny part of her that just did not care anymore. She wasn't stupid enough to listen to that inner voice in the long term, because she knew it was simply born from loss and pain, but it still existed and it was enough to make her realize that she needed this break from everything, for however long she managed to have it. So after doing a little research, her choice of handling things seemed to be validated for her, at least until Tess made her presence known. That was something she hadn't expected, but she was capable of handling it in a mature fashion. Mostly. But contact on the network wouldn't be enough to satisfy her curiosity or her desire to see for herself if this Tess was indeed different from the one she knew.
That was why she currently found herself sitting in Granny's, idly surfing through the network on the town provided PDA that had been given to her. Lois had arrived early for this meeting, choosing only to get a brief idea of the layout of the area instead of really settling in, and was now on her second cup of coffee. It actually felt comfortable to her in a strange yet familiar way. Maybe it was because it reminded her of some the places she'd find herself in when she was a teenager or maybe it was the atmosphere itself. Whatever it was, it made Lois feel a little less tense than she had been before entering. In a way, it helped her keep some sort of focus and stay grounded. The reporter wanted to see Tess Mercer for herself so she had some idea of who this woman really was. If Tess was telling the truth, and Lois hoped so, then she was going to need to readjust her mental settings on dealing with the woman who wore a Luthor's face. She hadn't been lying when she said she could be civil and go from there. She had to adapt some of her methods of dealing with people after Ollie's death when she became the only surviving Queen. She could do it here too, even if the stakes weren't as high. But being civil kind of sucked though. Lois really missed just barreling through things to get scoops. It was a heck of a lot more natural for her. Still, if Lois could handle being trapped in a quaint little town in Maine, she could handle time with a Tess, no matter what world she came from.
