Carol had done what she was well known for doing: holding herself up and poring over notes. Attempting to understand the nature of the universe of Storybrooke was more than fascinating. It was frustrating. What the locals referred to as "magic" certainly seemed resistant against any scientific understanding. Carol, however, was not the kind to simply give up.
Though it was best to step outside and get a breath of fresh air. Her feet took her to the local diner. Small, quaint, and nothing quite like the cafes in London or San Fransisco that she had come to know in her time growing up and in Starfleet. It was a nice change of pace, but Carol also felt confined in the town of Storybrooke. She found herself looking at the stars more than once. One never forgot the feeling of a moving starship it seemed.
She nodded to the waitress and took a seat in one of the booths.
