It was still very unnerving, and annoying, to find that Temperance did not have the same influence here. She'd grown accustomed to being able to state her name and be recognized, then given access to whatever information or equipment she needed. The hospital staff were familiar with her, after she'd barged in and insisted upon being tested for drugs and trauma upon arrival, and she'd spent the better part of her time here enforcing those contacts and assisting them in any way she could-- mostly by examining and helping to interpret patient X-rays, since her expertise on the subject far outweighed that of the current hospital staff.
And that wasn't an egotistical claim, but a logical one. To be fair to them, there were very few individuals with her level of intelligence and experience in working with human bone. Of course, she wasn't a medical doctor, and these were live patients, so she left all of the treatment to them. That was their field, not hers.
After about a week, she'd finally been given a part time job in radiology, which gave her access to the specialized equipment, and made contacts in the phlebotomy lab, in the hopes that she would have enough connections to get samples tested from any of the residents that allowed her to study them. There was also the teaching position that she'd signed up for at the college, but given the low level of the classes offered there, she felt confident she could balance the two.
As school had not yet begun, she had signed up for the afternoon shift in the hospital, and penciled in Angel for an X-ray. She also hoped to be able to do a physical examination (including a demonstration of his supposed vampire features) and take a blood sample, if time allowed. Currently, she was waiting for him in the radiology department.
When she saw him coming, she did a slight double-take. It was one thing to see his picture on the network and recognize the facial similarities, but there were many skeletal similarities as well: she could see it in the way he walked. He didn't just resemble Booth, he was very nearly identical. There were subtle differences, some of which were probably only visible to her trained eyes, but at a casual glance they could easily be mistaken for one another. It was yet another shock to her logical mind, which vehemently denied the possibility of two people looking so alike without being related, but she would make her assessment of it once she had done the tests to her satisfaction and had all of the facts.
The surprise showed briefly on her face, but she recovered quickly and offered her hand. "Angel. Thank you for coming."
