Sam couldn't help the laugh that escaped him at her description of Ash Warriors. There was something so natural about the casual way she threw it out there that he couldn't help but be amused. Just when he thought he'd gotten used to his boss she came up with something new and that was actually one of his favorite things about Isabela. "Sounds to me like they got their priorities screwed up. I was in the military for a while, and life doesn't happen on a battlefield," he told her, no trace of judgment in his voice. They'd studied cultures when he was in school that life revolved around wars and battles so it wasn't an entirely new concept to him. It was just one he didn't agree with.
"I need to start using that thing more myself. It's just hard when the people I'd most want to talk to on it or close enough I can just head over and see them. If you want I can go with you if you find one here in this town. Make sure it's really the breed they're claiming it is and not something else," he told her. He knew how much work Isabela and Killian put into this place on any given day and it always kind of bugged him when he heard peopls saying otherwise.
He gently shooed her hands away and did up the rest of his buttons himself. He didn't want to sleep with Isabela, she was pretty and he was comfortable with her but she was also his boss and that was a line he never wanted to cross. Problems came out of things like that, it was part of why he hadn't pursued more of a relationship with Sookie back home. "Back home, we revealed our existence to the world. A lot like the vampires did but here, I haven't told many people. I don't know how all of them would react and there's people back home that want to kill shapeshifters and weres. Vampires too some of them. I just decided to keep it quiet about what I was. I told them on that survey they gave us all to fill out but I asked that it be kept quiet."
