Elizabeth aged more than a few years since he met her. Experience could make a person practically gray, at least at heart. She couldn't survive the things that she did without maturing. The sweet girl there with a little spirit, she grew up to not care as much about marrying a pirate. She wanted to be one, something she'd originally never consider a possibility.
"Yes, some rum and a breather would be a good idea. It'll only get more difficult." She'd have to watch herself leave Jack to die. That in particular was going to be troublesome, maybe dredge up things for them both. And she was going to see her wedding. Perhaps more than that, something she wasn't ready to see. But she'd face it.
"Do you think they'll show what happened to me?" She looked over at Jack. "After you left." Elizabeth wondered if she'd settle after all, and what that would feel like to witness. It was a happy ending in some ways, for example they were alive, she appreciated that. But it wasn't the future she started to envision. "Did you ever think of me?"
