Garrus was just next door to Tali and Liara and while he had talked to them on the network, he hadn't seen them yet. He had been taking the time to hide in his apartment and adjust to the change from turian to human. The difference in the amount of fingers he had, the way his legs and hips were now shaped, and not to mention the whole facial muscles. For the first day they had twitched in ways he was not used to while experiencing emotions and reacting to things that were said on the network. He believed at one point he may have even smiled, if only a little bit. It was hard for a turian to smile, what with the mandibles and all. Maybe that's why all turian's seemed to have a stick up their butt. He still had yet to look in a mirror. It was hard enough adjusting to the fact that he was no longer himself without facing the truth in the mirror. Just seeing the rest of him as he had to plainly peel himself out of his armor and into human clothing had been enough of a shock. Honestly, he had nothing against humans, had even flirted back with Shepard a bit, but to be one himself was something different altogether. It felt foreign, alien even. It was wanting to check on Tali for himself that had gotten him out of the apartment. Once the two of them had fussed, bickered, and tormented each other like two siblings. Over time though, they had started to become friends. That's what happened when you had been to hell and back with someone a few times. Lately however, the banter between them had started to change. Nothing had happened between them yet, there simply hadn't been time, but the possibility was there and Garrus was curious if it still was. Garrus knocked on the door. The moment Tali opened the door, he held his hands out in defeat. "Be honest. How bad is it," he asked, his voice much the same as it had been and giving away who he was. |
