Elizabeth was keeping herself busy. It started with learning how to use what they called the phone and the network, and she thought that was going well. She didn't need to make voice posts anymore. She no longer jumped whenever she saw one of these cars, and she felt it was slow but steady going getting up to modern time. At least here it didn't matter if she preferred traditionally male clothing, since that was socially acceptable now. After the internet and clothes, she was focused on keeping their apartment clean and orderly. On a ship it didn't matter much what it looked like as long as it functioned. At her home, they had servants and maids to clean. She liked putting her back into it, so to speak. It felt more personal. With the pirates talking about starting their own tavern and inviting her along, Elizabeth had some type of job security. Imagine that, a job. If her father could see her now. Father.... No, no dwelling on that. She knew she'd been a bit snippy with Jack the other day and it was unjust. Despite what did or did not happen between them, he treasured his freedom and he deserved that. Their boundaries were firmly set in place and she felt better with that. While she could be perfectly reasonable in retrospect, she'd probably continue being snippy if she ran into his bedmates every other day. And then she'd have to clean up after them, no doubt. She agreed to go with him to the Rabbit Hole that evening and planned on buying him rum to make it up to him. She brushed her long blond hair and did a few looks in the mirror before stepping out into the common room. "Jack, are you around?" He kept his own time table, who knew when he'd be about really. She checked their fridge and larder, she'd have to fill it up again some time, and pulled out an apple to nibble on while she waited. |
