Normally, Hook would leave the work to his crew, only he currently lacked a crew. Sure, he could have hired someone to do all the work on the tavern, but he wanted it done right, which meant that he'd just have to throw a hand in there and do some of the work himself. He wasn't without help however. There was a few others working on the bar as well, one being Jefferson. The two had managed to connect as only two bitter men could. They had both seen some of the unpleasantries that other lands had to offer and also had just as unpleasant dealings with some of the same people, including the current thorn in both of their sides. If they were going to be stuck here, something might just have to be done to remove that thorn. Hook's normal coat and vests were gone this day. It was much easier to work in one of his looser shirts, sleeves rolled up. This brought more attention to not only the hook that served for his lack of hand, but also the tattoo on his arm. He gave thought to neither. Over the years, Hook had became quite adapt at using his hook in place of his hand. It wasn't just a pretty ornament. While it may not be able to help with any heavy lifting, he could use it to hold things in place while he hammered. The old empty warehouse was going to look like anything but by the time they got down with it. He and Isabela had decided the whole main floor would serve as a the tavern with the upstairs offices being turned into room that could be rented. Other they rented them for the long term or just a night was just to those renting. While there may not be anyone coming in and out of Storybrooke, there was population boom that sooner or later they were going to run out of room for, so why not take advantage of it and make a bit of money off the situation. Setting down his hammer, Hook grabbed himself a bottle of water and took a long swallow. He then sat it aside and picked up another one which he tossed to Jefferson. "Thanks again for helping out, mate." |
