Alistair realized something after his talk with Isabela. No, no, it hadn't been the whips, chains, and whipped cream part he had realized anything about. It was the fact that here, now, he wasn't king. In a lot of ways it was like a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. Sure, he worried about what was to become of the kingdom if he didn't make it back. Would Orlesians swoop in the moment word got out that the King of Ferelden was missing? What if another blight some how managed to start? These were things he could do little about from here. Worrying would do him no good, so he tried not to. Here he could just be Alistair again. No kingdom, no darkspawn, no chain of command stood in Alistair's way here. These were all things that had always seemed to stand between him and Neria back in Thedas. Sure, he was technically still a templar, and she was still a mage, but that had never matter not to him. The fact that he had been willing to lay down his life for her, but could not because she had worked so hard to make him king, and then had went through with that ritual with Morrigan, should have told her how he felt. Maybe it had. Maybe it had just been the fact that he was king and she still a Grey Warden and an elf mage that had made her pretend that she didn't see what an blubbering idiot Alistair turned into around her. All of these things, not a one of them mattered here. He was just a man and she was just a woman, okay a woman elf, and that's all that mattered to him. Today was the day. Today was the day that Alistair Theirin was going to man up and tell the woman he cared about how he felt. Or at least he was going to attempt to. Knocking on the door, he hide the flower he had brought behind his back. He figured that one did not try to woo someone like Neria by shoving a flower in her face the moment she opened the door. As it was he was standing there scrubbing the toe of his boot back and forth like a little boy while he waited for her to answer the door. ooc: Now with less typos! |
