Who: The Doctor (Tenth) and Rose Tyler What: Re-re Meeting, and probably getting chips. Where: Out front of the clock store When: Sometime in the afternoon on the 8th Rating: Probably PG. Notes:
The Doctor stood outside the watch shop, pacing rather slowly. He understood that he likely should have been more animated with what was about to happen, but it was complicated. Jumping through worlds, traveling through dimensions was bad, bad, news. The Doctor knew this implicitly, he knew it infallibly, but he also saw no evidence to suggest this place was in the same kind of danger. He was content with that answer after canvasing the city with his red and blue spectacles, and having a small handful of interactions with some rather friendly people here.
The answers they had provided him weren't of much help but, that wasn't unusual. He'd given his name that he could have expected them to accept, and a small bit about himself. They, in turn, had given him a PDA, a map, and had been really quite helpful. Still, it hadn't provided him with any answers and, really, nothing had. While that normally would have been frustrating to him, today, he was content not to ask questions. His song was ending, so he'd been told and, The Doctor was more than content to put as much distance between himself and that as he could.
The fact that this journey had stripped him from his TARDIS and dropped him, and seemingly a lot of other people, into a strange, New England, town was a little disconcerting, but it was a lot less so than dealing with the process of regeneration. Yes, it would involve some discomfort and yes, his hearts would likely force him to get back to his usual problem solving self, but The Doctor wasn't in any kind of rush to die. Plus, Rose was here and, morbid as it might have sounded, the thought of having more time with her was a rather nice send off -- doubly so considering it didn't seem to be causing fractures in the universe.
So, here he was, pacing back and forth in front of the clock shop, a fitting meeting place for one to find a Time Lord. He was looking all around him, even went so far as to lick a nearby lamp-post to examine it's rough composition, waiting for Rose Tyler. She was the girl who confronted the Daleks, the girl who stared into the heart of the TARDIS, the girl who re-wrote time. She was the one who built a dimensional cannon to come back to him, and who took all the worst of him home with her to keep it safe.
Seeing her again would be a really nice send off indeed.
