"I wasn't sure. Hey, this is my first time meeting someone from the internet, so ... there's that." Eddie was usually too busy at work to do anything like that, and then Iris took up all of his free time anyway. He really didn't want to think about Iris though. He chuckled at the YOLO and shook his head. "To be fair, I don't think YOLO really applies in this place. Since we're all living twice at the very least." He definitely was, for example. He was doing pretty well accepting that. He kept thinking maybe he should be more upset, but maybe since it was his choice it made a difference.
"It's fine, it's supposed to be funny. My co-workers found it funny. I got taunted for at least a month. They traded that in for calling me pretty boy later on." His partner chief among them, although he started out saying it behind Eddie's back. Joe was a decent guy, but he wasn't hugely into the idea of having Eddie as a partner at first. They eventually worked it out.
"Not everyone gets to see a look for themselves before it happens, so there's that. If I knew what mine was going to look like, I could've avoided it." Eddie looked a little surprised at the question. There was a first for everything, and this was one of them. If it was another situation he might've given her a more 'are you crazy?' look, but ... he sort of got it. She seemed lonely. He really, really got that. "Sure, why not? I'm still waiting on whether I can get a job here, so my days are filling up with practicing my rolled up paper basketball shots."
