The moment Will's hand touched her cheek, Riley felt the last of her tension fade away. It was an utter cliche, but the wave of tentative affection she felt as much as saw on his face made her smile until she felt her cheeks start to redden. There they were, trapped and confused and very possibly in danger, and all he had to do to calm her down was look at her. (Talk about dangerous- the thought drew a quiet laugh.) Riley had to hope the jumble of emotions became easier to handle eventually, even if in the moment it was the most familiar thing they had.
"Stuck, but together. And possibly not being chased by a murderer for now. If that means dealing with magic, I think we can handle it." There was the brief thought of her hex and Yrsa. Magic and superstition from her childhood made her more susceptible than most to the suggestion of powers beyond her control. It was a godsend when it came to her new life as a senseate. But apparently when it rains, it pours. There was no getting comfortable with their lives; the moment she tried to be comfortable with what she was, another trial was thrown her way. But they had come through so much. This was just another... adventure to go through. And now they had each other to make things even more 'interesting.'
Riley reached up to place her hand over Will's on her cheek, gently guiding the touch away. She pulled their hands together between them, then closed the small distance to lean in to press her lips to his in a brief kiss. "So. Do you think we can get out of here?" He seemed to be feeling stable. She would give him all the time he needed, but the sooner she was back in the fresh air and sunlight the better.
