Sam flinched almost imperceptively when she laid a hand on his back. Mainly because he wasn't expecting the contact but there was a small subconscious part of him that wanted to reflexively pull away because it had become apparent that there was something between them, whether they acted on it or not, and nothing good ever happened to people he cared about. He stopped himself, he hoped before she noticed, not wanting to seem ungrateful of the comfort she was offering him.
He glanced at her as she spoke and he nodded. "Sure, while we're here it's just stories. But apparently if, or when, we get sent back we go back to the point we came from, so whatever happens on the show now is for me to live when I go back to my reality." He said. "You can say it's not true if you like, but every other detail of my life has been perfectly documented by that show so I have no reason to believe this won't come to pass the same way."
