Life in Storybrooke had been quiet as of late, aside from the regular influx of people from other realms. That was something she'd grown used to, though. People arrived from strange lands, some which were similar to this one and some which weren't that unlike her home in the Enchanted Forest. It was fascinating to Belle to meet all of these different people and hear their stories. Some were recognizable as people from the many books the Storybrooke Library held. The advantage of being librarian meant that one didn't have to travel far at all to check out a book. She had been slowly working through the novels that struck her interest since being given the key to the place, although there had been plenty of distractions from her reading, too. Strange things had a habit of happening in Storybrooke and each time they did, Belle always pushed her hobbies aside to try and help figure them out. She wasn't anything special and there was only so much she could do, but still she tried her best. But today was a quiet day. There weren't any weird magical goings on and things at the library had been slow enough to warrant leaving a little early. She had other staff there, who could see to things for the rest of the day, so she picked a book at random - just closing her eyes and pointing at a spot on the shelf - and made her way toward Granny's. It was just after lunchtime, a meal she hadn't taken the time to eat, yet, so she planned to stop and do so now before finding a good place to curl her up with her book. The Lord of the Rings was what he finger had chosen. The walk to Granny's was a short one and before long she had taken a seat in her usual booth. She looked up and smiled as a full glass of ice water was set in front of her. "The usual?" her waitress asked and Belle nodded. Granny's had many wonderful things on their menu, but she'd developed a penchant for burgers since Rumple had first introduced her to them, so that was what she ordinarily asked for this time of day. |
