Adam had watched Dean leave the house, vaguely nodding that he would stay behind and sulk. Well... to hell with that. Adam may not have been a hunter or even much of a fighter throughout his short life, but he was never the type to back down when there was trouble brewing. He always faced his challenges head on, like a true Winchester would, and while Adam usually operated on his more subdued, intellectual side, he could still summon up a good deal of anger and rage to get him through just about anything these days.
His arrival in this strange, little town was not only surprising, but mostly, it was a relief. He thought it was all over the second he got separated from his brothers. He thought he would forever more be Michael's bitch, and that thought scared him more than anything. When he believed he was doing this for his mother, there was absolutely no fear to be spoken of. It was what he felt he had to do out of love and respect for the woman who was both mother and father to him. It was the least he could do. But as soon as he figured out the angels were all in it for themselves, Adam's fear bubbled up from the depths of his soul. So really, he was glad he was here and not ambling about with an archangel wearing him to the prom.
Counting until twenty, Adam picked up his jacket and bolted out the door after Dean. His brother was surprisingly quick on his feet, and Adam actually lost him once as he rounded a corner. Did he know that Adam was following him? Did he deliberately try to shake him off his tail? It was very possible, but Adam was a lot more resourceful than that. Maybe he was never a boyscout or anything, because he never had the type of encouragement that a father would give his son to join such a troupe, but he had innate skills he assumed he had inherited from his father, even long before he knew the man was a monster hunter.
Finally, after what seemed like a fruitless venture, Adam managed to catch up with Dean again but now he wasn't sure if following him was such a good idea. He saw as Dean punched Sam out and then the ensuing fight between him and that demon girl. There was a part of Adam that was glad that Dean was giving her a run for her money, and then, there was also a part of him that inwardly winced at each violent confrontation. What the hell was he supposed to do? How the hell did you kill a demon? Why hadn't anyone taught him all this important shit before? Did they think he wouldn't be good enough? Hell! He had Winchester blood in him. How could he not be good?
Slowly, he moved forward, urging his feet to continue taking slow and steady steps toward Dean and Ruby. Although he didn't know all the details about her, one thing was perfectly clear. She was the enemy, and she had to be taken out no matter what.
(ooc; I made a new comment thread so as to not interrupt the awesome fight scene going on. Hope that's okay! I can always move it if need be. :D)
