It occurred to him that this conversation with be a lot more comfortable with some bourbon. Unfortunately, only one of them could actually have bourbon, he supposed, and it would probably be insensitive to ask for a drink under the circumstances. Probably definitely.
He moved forward as she continued speaking, shaking his head at her words. Maybe this wasn't exactly what he'd signed up for, but it wasn't like it wasn't something he wanted. It wasn't like he hadn't been carrying a ring around in his pocket, just waiting for the right moment to propose. He didn't know if this was that moment. Probably not, he should probably try and make it romantic.
"That makes two of us," he admitted as he wrapped his arms around her, "but asshole doctors aside, I'm not- I don't think this is bad news. Not unless you're not happy about it."
