Aramis had been somewhat adrift in Storybrooke. It wasn't that he didn't like the place, it was certainly fascinating and there were many friendly people, but it was so very different than what he was used to. Not to mention, he had been left feeling as though he had no purpose. Back home, he had known what he stood for and it had been easy to know what he was meant to do. Here, he did not fit. Thankfully, he had Killian, Jack and Isabela for company and, while it was a far cry from being a Musketeer, he felt that he would enjoy his work caring for the young children of the town once it started. Still, he missed the thrill of fighting for the good of France.
In that sense, this new development was almost welcome. That wasn't, of course, to say that he was happy to have the threat of strange undead creatures roaming the town and threatening the lives of the people there, but at least it gave him something to do. He was well accustomed to fighting, and his uniform offered a fair amount of protection from the bites of the "zombies". He had been keeping near the Hanged Man and had been fighting off the monsters with his sword and what Killian had told him was a handgun. He had found that he was fond of it. It was rather like the pistols he had used in the past, but much simpler to load and it carried more ammunition at a time, making things far simpler. It was one of the developments of the future that he quite enjoyed. And his aim was as good as it had ever been, so he saw no reason not to use it, particularly now.
He was in the middle of shooting yet another zombie when he spotted a familiar face. He had all but given up hope of seeing any of his friends here, but Porthos's arrival made things even better. Smiling widely, he holstered his gun and swiftly decapitated another zombie with his sword. "You're late, my friend," he called across the short distance cheerfully. "And here I thought you were going to miss all the fun."
