Faith had managed to crash out the first couple of nights here, just because she was still healing and Slayer or no, that fight took a lot out of her. But after that, the strangeness of the place left her unnerved, and she had fallen back into old habits - catnapping in small fits and roaming restless the rest of the time. It came in handy if you were sleeping in a cell, wondering if anyone was going to try to knife you in your sleep. But for hanging around a quiet small town full of storybook people, it just meant she had more time to have nothing to do.
The idea of getting a job wasn't bad, except for how Faith didn't know how to do anything except shove sharp objects through the chests of nasty things. Kind of not high on the job skills list of anything she'd seen. And so far nothing coming through the portal needed slaying. Her roommate might have been a big bad (if the kid who told her wasn't full of it), but she was breathing and eating and human as far as Faith could tell, and she hadn't seen anyone else with their fangs out, going for blood. Just weird half-vampires and Spike and Angel. There were a couple of others who might be, but they weren't her brand of vamp, so she couldn't be sure. If they flashed fang, she'd whip out the stake, but until then she was holding her peace. No matter if this town creeped her out and she was starting to itch for a good slay. (And it bugged her, a little, that all these people were coming through but she hadn't seen Robin, or any of the slayer kids. Robin and some of the girls had been in pretty rough shape, last she saw.)
So she didn't know what to do. For now though, she just mapped out the town like it was a career, tried to flirt her way into free drinks at the bar. (The Rabbit Hole, seriously. She got the whole fairytale theme of the town, but it sounded like a dive lesbian biker joint. Which would probably be more fun than the small town bar it actually was.) And in the mornings she lit out early to go stretch the kinks from her limbs.
Usually she headed for the forest. Just because it was the closest thing to a cemetery she'd found. She was only a block away from the tower when a flash of something caught her eye. She slipped a hand into her jacket automatically, fingers closing tight around the whittled stake there. She stopped though as her brain caught up to what she was actually looking at. Some blonde chick, a half mile above the ground, coming in for a landing.
Faith jogged that way, stopping a few yards away as the girl touched down. She grinned, eyebrows lifted. "Girl who could fly. Wicked. So what are you?" she asked.
