After getting dirt on her jeans numerous times, Caroline finally managed to nab herself a rabbit and more surprising a deer. She didn't kill them, but only took enough to stall the hunger. Unfortunately, it left her weaker than a vampire who fed fully and freely from human blood, even if the blood was in a bag. Sure, she had more strength than a normal human, but a vampire on a normal diet could kick her ass to the next county--wherever that was. But having people come after you with pitchforks and knives was not a preferable choice and Caroline would take the blow to her vampire abilities if it meant the people here didn't decide to stick a stake in her heart. She finished up the doe she'd manage to take down a few minutes before and was raising a hand to blot the blood stains on her mouth when she heart footsteps. They were nearly silent, but vampire hearing was supernatural and human training just couldn't really compete with that. Even with her senses slightly weakened she could still pick up on the sound, a heart beat or footstep alike. Caroline almost took off, every limb poised for flight because the alternative for someone catching her feeding was not, not a good one and she wasn't familiar with all the people living here, even if most appeared nice and friendly.
His voice reached her ears and Caroline turned, keen sight taking in the figure of a sturdily built man in a shirt and jeans. Caroline swallowed. She didn't known if she'd met him before, but he seemed familiar enough. Maybe she'd seen him around town? Her blue eyes peered at him from beneath her thick blond hair. "Fine. Just...fine," she laughed nervously, turning to face him with the perfect smile on her lips. In her desperate attempt to come off normal, Caroline had forgotten to wipe her mouth. Blood stained the lips and corners.
