Though Caroline would obviously prefer to be back home--comforting her best friend Elena, mourning Bonnie and Damon(strangely enough)--the place where she had ended up, Storybrooke, Maine, was not really all that bad. So far, she only come in contact with decent, likable people. People who were for the most part like her. They wanted to go home, but they'd made an unsteady peace with being trapped here. Unfortunately, luck, hope, and randomness were all they had when it came to any chance of going back home--none of which was really reliable. It was down right depressing, but Caroline had never been a person to look at the glass as "half empty". Despite the bad situations her friends and her found themselves in back home, Caroline was determined to show them and herself that they could still enjoy high school and then college too. Even now, if she was back home, she'd be determined to get Elena's mind off Damon and her own off Bonnie. She'd redecorate their dorm room at Whitmore or plan a party. Hell! Maybe she would have even suggestion a road trip of some kind--those always seemed to work so well for the girls facing personal loss and change! But none of that mattered now, did it? Nope. Caroline was here and they were there, back in Mystic Falls, and no amount of praying, wishing, and begging would change current conditions. So, what did you do when the world practically drowned you in lemons, limes, and any other tropical fruit that went so well in alcohol? You made lemonade of course! It was practically Caroline's life motto, that and alcohol could pretty much solve all problems...mostly. Her "lemonade"? Having a party and inviting the whole town.
Positivity could pretty much keep the sun shining in Caroline's life nonstop and help her bring it into others' lives too, but it couldn't keep her blood lust at bay. As much as she appeared human and acted like it, human substance could no longer sustain her. While turning into a vampire had been arguably the best thing that probably happen to her, it had its pitfalls and needing blood was probably the biggest one. Unlike most young vampires, she had more control over her desire for blood, but it didn't mean that she didn't need it to survive. Vampires that didn't feed shriveled up and practically became skin and bone. Caroline was nowhere near that bad...yet. She'd managed to keep herself somewhat satiated on the blood of animals, but she wasn't Stefan and eating bunnies had never been something she excelled at. Still, it was preferable to being so weak that you couldn't move, or worse you lost control and fed, unchained and uncontrolled, on a human and possibly end up killing them. Caroline had killed before, but it was not something she made a habit of. As she exclaimed to Enzo, she was a "good vampire and she didn't go around killing people!". She had killed that man when she first because a vampire, but otherwise, Caroline didn't harm anyone unless they did the same to her in some fashion or hurt those she cared about, like her mom and Bonnie, but it was so not limited to them either.
