After almost two weeks of being here, Rose was starting to let her guard down a little. She didn't like being stuck here, however nice the town seemed, and she was still worried about Lissa, but she was also pretty sure no strigoi were going to jump out and attack them, which meant that she had a little more freedom than she'd ever had back home. Even in those two years on the run from their own society, Rose's life had been all about protecting Lissa. There hadn't been much time to enjoy the conveniences of the real world while they'd been posing as regular human kids. Here, though, they both had more of a chance to be just like everyone else. She wasn't sure if she liked it, but she at least trusted that she could go out for an hour or two without Lissa finding herself in mortal danger. The bond helped. Rose could feel Lissa's general mood even as she busied herself with other things. She might be out on her own at the moment, but she'd know instantly if her best friend needed her. In the meantime, she was enjoying a little solitude. Well, not solitude, exactly, but the ability to do something that was mainly just for her was a novelty she found herself liking a lot at the moment. Rose took her time walking through the streets of Storybrooke, Guardian eyes taking in her surroundings even as she made her way to the local gym. Without daily battles with strigoi and her classes at St. Vladimir's to keep her in shape, she worried she could be going soft. Sure, she'd just shoved a silver stake in Dimitri's death and watched him fall from a bridge, so she was probably still good, but how long could that last in a place like this if she didn't do something to keep in shape? Running would remind her of Dimitri too much, but she figured the local gym would have some good exercise equipment. Maybe even a punching bag if she was lucky. And she was. Rose grinned as she spotted it and quickly jogged over. She had some unresolved issues after her ordeal in Russia, things she couldn't talk to this version of Lissa about. She knew keeping things from Liss had caused a lot of problems in the past, but right now it felt necessary. Needless to say, taking those issues out on the bag in front of her would be a pretty welcome release. With that in mind, she planted herself in front of the bag and started punching. |
