Kitty tried to eat her pizza, but it was hard not to sit with her jaw dropped open as Jubilee detailed her own life. It was like listening to an off-key rendition of a song she loved - some parts were the same, but some parts were discordant and strange. But it sounded like everything worked out okay in the end, and Kitty couldn't be anything but happy about that. "Um. I'm definitely not HYDRA, I promise." Weren't they the weird fascists from WWII who were into the occult? Not a big part of Kitty's universe, that she could remember. But now it was her turn to talk.
"Okay. Well, to start with, the Xavier School was in Salem Center, not Bayville. Wherever that is. And Bobby was older than me - than both of us. Scott and Jean were teachers at the school." She swallowed hard, remembering Scott's disappearance and Jean's death, the battle of Alcatraz. "Mutants were exposed too, by these robots called Sentinels that could sense the X-gene. We were... the school was shut down and turned into a lab, and mutants were rounded up and experimented on." She set down her pizza, flattening her hands against the table. "And the Sentinels started to... adapt. Evolve, I guess. More and more people were put in the camps, not just mutants but the humans, too. I managed to escape along with some friends. We were fighting against the Sentinels, but it was a losing battle. But we were... I was trying one last plan to fix things. That's when I got brought here." She swallowed hard. "I don't know if it worked."
