"I do that a lot," Kitty admitted. "You should probably start getting used to it." Doors and walls were more suggestions than actual barriers for her. But she couldn't help smiling as Jubilee kept talking - simple jokes with no gallows humor were such a relief. Seeing Jubes was a relief.
Actually smiling felt a little strange on her face.
"I think... I would like that. A lot." Kitty pushed her hair out of her face, still smiling. "And it's okay, I haven't even tried to go grocery shopping. I don't... I guess I need money? And a job?" She'd been stealing and scavenging for so long that it sounded completely foreign to her. Kitty took a seat at the kitchen table, shrugging as she tried to figure out how to answer Jubilee's question.
"I'm... adjusting, I guess. Things were bad, where I come from. When I come from. I'm not used to being stuck in one place and not having anyone breathing down my neck."
