Sherlock was feeling...fantastic actually. Warm and pleasant and perfectly lovely. Even with Watson's return and the knowledge that, contrary to simply leaving because of hurt feelings she was actually intentionally and deliberately abandoning him, he felt fine. Better than fine. He felt fantastic. No, he'd used that word already. Anyway, it didn't merit thinking about. He had been out at the bar, not the pirate bar but the other less than reputable establishment in town, and he had met with an amiable gentleman who had assisted him in procuring certain items which he required. And now any concerns about Watson's return or her insistence that she remove herself from his life were distant things. It wasn't anything serious, certainly nothing for anything to for anyone to concern themselves over. He was aware he'd had problems in the past, but this was entirely different. He had the situation entirely in hand.
He stared up at the sky, skin still buzzing pleasantly with the faint euphoria of his chemical aid. He reached the flats, but felt no real desire to go in, instead choosing to remain outside. The night air felt good and being alone on the street seemed preferable to being alone in his flat. Taking a seat on a bench, he stared up at the sky, entranced by the enormity of it all. This...this was important. The vastness of the universe and everything. Joan and her petty problems were nothing when compared to the enormity of the universe.
