Andromeda sat at one end of the bar, one leg crossed primly over the other, her skirt pulled down sharply to cover her knee. Her back was poker straight as she sipped absently from a large glass of rather questionable red wine, staring unseeingly at a spot behind the bar. Occasionally, someone would approach her, but Andromeda usually managed to do quite a good job of disarming them with a very severe glare. Andromeda could manage a ‘don’t mess with me’ stare quite well – it was all part and parcel of growing up in the Black household.
Despite her very antisocial attitude, she had actually come here because she couldn’t stand the quiet of the flat any longer. Back at home, her husband and daughter were something like human hurricanes, sweeping through the house with more noise than Andromeda would previously thought was possible. She loved her moments of peace and quiet back home. But now she missed that chaotic environment so much it was like a physical pain.
Bars weren’t her thing usually – at least, not ones like this – but if Sirius could do it, why couldn’t she? And she supposed one visit wouldn’t hurt, unless she accidentally contracted a strain of dragonpox from the door handle. She’d already cast a subtle scouring charm on the bar surface in front of her.
Andromeda sighed, placing the glass back down just as someone approached. She was already preparing to give them a not very happy look, when she noticed that, actually, there weren’t many spaces left. Struggling with her need to be polite for a moment, the dark haired woman finally gestured for the newcomer to take the seat.
