It all happened so fast. There hadn't been anything she could do. Had she been able to move. The sight of Hale with the sword in his chest froze her in her place. When she could move she scrambled across the floor to his side. Her hands moved to his chest and she focused on Hale. Until she heart Massimo quoting the Clan Zamora poem.
"I should be thanking you," he told her. "Consider us paid in full."
In that moment she realized he was right. He was horribly right. If it wasn't for her, Hale would be alive right now. If it wasn't for Kenzi needing those "fae" powers, she would have never given the Twig of Zamora as a payment.
All Kenzi could do was lay there with him, stay there with him. She didn't want to move from his side or leave him alone. She'd been crying for…well, she didn't know exactly how long but longer than she ever thought she would cry for. The pain, the heartache was unlike anything she had ever felt before. Time passed by but Kenzi could not tell you how long she laid there. She didn't move a muscle until she heard Bo's arrival.
She didn't feel in control when she was screaming at Bo. She felt disconnected, like she was watching the interaction instead of being a participant. Kenzi yelled and cried and screamed and shook Bo as waves of pain and heartache rolled over her. Drowning her in her desperation to save him, to bring him back.
Bo's hands grabbed her face on either side and Kenzi could feel the chi leaving her body. She stopped abruptly and Kenzi was left coughing for air and begging her best friend to take her life to save Hale. Bo caressed her hand against Kenzi's cheek and she could feel the pain slowly start to subside. The exhaustion of all the the emotions left her laying across Hale into Bo's lap.
A magic portal pulled her to Storybrooke, Maine, leaving Kenzi a crumpled mess on the street near the center of town. She looked down but Hale wasn't there. His body wasn't there. He was gone. Someone took him. They had to have. The first person that came close to her received the blame. He became her target.
"Where is he? What did you do with him?" Kenzi yelled at the person in front of her. She didn't know where she was or how she got here and she didn't really care. Right now she didn't remember being here, she didn't remember Storybrooke at all in this moment. The only thing she could think of was Hale. "Where is he? What did you do with Hale?" She continued crying out for answers until the raging emotions got the best of her.
