"David, I've led a rebellion, traveled between worlds, fought in battles, and regularly win battles of wills with nine year olds. Do you really think I wouldn't put you on the sofa?" Snow teased. "I would miss you, but I'm a very stubborn person, David. It would take me at least a night to admit it and let you back." Maybe. They'd been apart for so long, Snow really didn't like to have to sleep without him, and David knew it. But she could still tease ... and it might happen, sometime. Snow did have a temper and she was, on occasion, extraordinarily stubborn.
"I like being able to wonder how much penguins eat, and then just looking it up. There's no questions you can't just find the answers to. I love that," Snow said. "But the questions would all be different at home, so it wouldn't be the same." Life in the Enchanted Forest had been complex because of their constant battle against the Queen, but the day to day life had been simpler, it was true. She could adjust, but she thought she would miss the many, many ways this world had to pass the time.
Snow hummed a little, swinging Charming around in a half dancing little step. "She'll be our daughter, David. She'll be into everything, argue with all our rules, and turn your hair gray. But she - or he - doesn't need you to be uber anything. And you are a strong leader." Snow had been an eager to please child, but she'd been willful, too. And Emma had clearly gotten that from her parents. Snow was sure this baby would, too.
