Fred hadn't considered that it would be strange to Hermione that he would be here alone when he greeted her. But of course it was strange, because where Fred was, George was usually close by. But with George not in Storybrooke, it was just Fred. Fred hated that part, he hated being without his twin.
But Hermione was what was important today, because Hermione had apparently just arrived in Storybrooke. Because he hadn't seen her before now, hadn't heard anything of her before he saw her on the street. So yes, she must have just arrived.
"Yeah, it's me. Fred." He moved closer to the younger girl, "It's okay, I promise. We're safe here. We're in a town called Storybrooke, Maine. Magical portals pulled us here, and there's really no way of getting back. Unless the portals decide it's time for us to go back. That's why George isn't here, because the portal decided I didn't really need my twin." George had been pulled back twice from Storybrooke during the time Fred had been here. Fred missed him.
He reached toward Hermione, resting a hand on her shoulder for a moment. "I promise you're safe. You believe me, right?" Perhaps Hermione had come from the time when she had been with Harry and Ron, when she had been finding the horcruxes. If that was the case, of course she'd be wary.
