Kenzi had been out with the intention of grabbing lunch but as she'd been eating pie (because one should always eat dessert first!) at Granny's she had decided to text Dyson. She had watched the latest episodes of their show and the idea of being taught to be a Shadow Thief was intriguing. Kenzi wasn't all that surprised when Dyson agreed. He had on the screen after all. But it was the next few texts that had her asking for a box and ordering some more food to take back to the apartment she shared with Dyson. If he was going to let her play with his new Xbox she figured the least she could do was bring him food back from Granny's!
She enjoyed spending time with Dyson too. She always had. They were close and they understood each other that was different from the way her and Bo were with each other. Maybe it had to do with the bodyswapping or the number of times they saved one another. It didn't matter. Dyson had earned him a very special place in Kenzi's heart. As soon as she was at their door she let herself in and deposited the bags from Granny's on the counter.
"Oh momma it's beautiful!" Kenzi murmured, walking towards the table.
Since she had been back she found plenty to do to busy herself. She was picking up extra shifts, being extra nice to the new arrivals all the while avoiding Hale. And taking part in the holiday festivities. The amount of time she had been kissed over the last couple weeks was fairly insane and she knew it had something to do with magic. It was like she was forced to kiss these people! It felt like she hadn't really seen Dyson or Hale. The only person she had really seen was Vex but they did work together.
"Love one," she answered, running her hands over the box. "We have any rum left?" she asked.
She slowly opened the lid of the box, grinning like a four year old on Christmas morning. She really couldn't wait to play Dyson in some game!
