I don't think I'm going to manage that. I mean, it's not just about the body count, you know? Although the body count is definitely on my list of things to feel bad about. But I appreciate the sentiment, all the same. And I'm the one who told you to do background checks on people, so that's alright. I suspect that if you still think that about me, you might have the same problem I do where you want to believe the best in people. I'll try not to disappoint, at least, because I know how that feels.
I guess gods falling out of favor get pissy about it, regardless of what world they're in. Just goes to show no one should ever have that kind of power, because it turns them into assholes. I don't think I've run into Illyria or Jasmine, though. So... if your Senior Partners are evil, does that basically mean you work for some kind of demonic law firm? That would have seemed a lot weirder to me about a year ago.
They might be involved somehow, but if it has something to do with the show, my bet is on the writers. Prophets tend to have something to do with writing and reading, at least in my world. And it looks like there's a Carver and an Edlund working on my show-- our prophet used the pseudonym Carver Edlund. Not sure that means anything, though, because I also met a Robert Singer who was one of the directors, who thought he had named the Bobby Singer I knew after himself (and maybe he's this world's version of Bobby just like Padalecki is me, except he doesn't look anything alike, so I don't know). And the prophet I ran into didn't realize the characters he was writing about were real, either. Could just be psychic information being pushed into their heads without them doing anything intentionally.
Yeah, Thomas Raith. Going to be one of the more difficult ones, because he can't seem to avoid feeding entirely. I told him that if he does as little damage as possible, I won't come after him, although I don't much like it. And I'm working on putting together information on all the vampires here. They're all different from the ones I'm used to, because all the stake and garlic and crosses business isn't even a little bit true at home. With the ones I'm used to, sunlight hurts them like a bad sunburn, only thing that slows them down is being poisoned with dead man's blood, and to kill them you have to chop off their heads. But I know my way around a stake, if it comes to that, I'm just used to using it on other types of creatures.
I've been going running at night; did it the first night I got here and just kind of got in the habit. If you ever wanted company on patrol, that might be a good time to talk in person when no one's around.
