Angel | Sam
Yeah, and it's an effective tactic, which means they use it all the damn time. But you're right, it's better than the alternative. A wise person once told me that if you try to shut out pain, you end up shutting out everything else, too. And I don't know if it's true that I can. I can leave things alone when they're not apocalyptically bad-- like going away to Stanford, for instance-- but if the world as I know it is about to end, there really isn't much of a choice. I'm not ready to die unless it's worth something, and going out along with the rest of the world really isn't how I want to go.
I hope so, too. I'm beyond tired of gods and their crap, but this does seem like their kind of gig, doesn't it? The actual angel that's on my team just arrived, so he might be able to figure out more than I can, although I'm not sure what time point he's from, so he might not have all his powers working either. He's a good guy, though. I think I mentioned that there's one angel that I actually trust? All the rest of them are dicks, but he isn't. Not anymore, anyway.
I've only read the episode summaries, but yeah, 'unnervingly accurate' does seem to be what we're looking at in my case too. I think the weirdest part is that not only did they find out every detail of our lives, but they cast actors who look exactly like us. I figured that one out when everyone thought I was Padalecki, but it's weirder now that I'm not him. If that makes any sense. Prophets and prophecies are bad enough when they're obscure and hidden in the shadows; putting them in the mainstream media just makes it even worse, really.
Yeah, I mean, I'm trying to keep a low profile hunting-wise, but that's easier said than done. I figure so long as I keep it to individual conversations under filters and one on one, that's about as good as I can do. Because there's a certain amount of talking about it that I'll have to do if I'm going to do my job here. Minus the actual killing part.
