Nothing is going to fix this. I doubt even having a clear idea of what's going on would do anything to improve it unless we had the methods to go about doing what would be needed on hand.
Until then, there's not much else that can be done. And I know how it feels. Probably not exactly. This sounds more severe than I ever got after the fire, but mind isn't rooted where it should be. It's floating. Look for things that will ground you. It'll be hard here, in an unfamiliar setting, but look for things that will act as sign posts. Root that in your mind, instead. Plant yourself. Don't wait for your brain to tell you when you're asleep or wake. Recognize it. Examine. Remember.
Sometimes absences are the clearest markers we can have to what constitutes reality.
