All right. So, if we can head out, I've got some questions.

Does this mean people can wander in now? If so, should we start doing a better job of covering up that we've got an odd mix here to keep the torches and pitchforks from following after?

And anyone have any idea where the portals are going? Because my inner 12 year old keeps wanting to jump in and my grown up self is not that convincing about saying no.

We could probably still use magic to alert the town for when outsiders arrive. It might be enough to give us warning should we need to prepare for travelers. If anything else, I'm sure that we have more than enough power in this town to protect us from any possible mobs that refuse to listen to reason.

I'm curious about those portals myself... but I would advise caution in entering them. You might find one that leads to the Nine Hells and that isn't a pleasant place.

It's not so much the protection I'm worried about as just the exposure. The shoebox town with no options might have gotten a little old, but I think some of us like not having a lot of people watching all the time.

Nine Hells does sound like a pretty decent deterrent, kid me might listen to that one, for a while at least.

You make a good point. Storybrooke has allowed many of us a welcome freedom to simply be who we are without really hiding. But my suggestion is still a logical one...

Perhaps we could modify the effects of a fear spell to encompass the town. One without fear, but helps to encourage outsiders to avoid the area without preventing anyone from Storybrooke and the portals any freedom. There are other glamours that could possibly work as well. Maybe a hallucinatory terrain spell.

I won't argue the logic, you had a point.

Magic's not at all my area, so I've got no ideas on that one. It seems like tossing it around when there was just a mess of it might be overkill, but that's someone without any knowledge offering up opinions.

As a mage, I'm a little biased with my opinion on magic. And while it can be complicated and sometimes dangerous, I'm afraid I don't see much of an alternative. Science can only do so much in this area.

But I believe there are enough magic users in town that I would like to think that we could come up with a solution to this new dilemma. It will certainly be fun to work on! Maybe we could mix the arcane with science to create something to help. I think I would enjoy seeing that.

I'll let the people like you who know about it do the thinking about that part of it. I'm gonna be selfish and put in a vote to wait a little bit and let us enjoy the freedom before giving it a go though, if you all decide to, just in case all the doors slam shut again.

And if we can't cover it up that well it might draw in some gawkers and make this place a tourist town. Pretty fucked up...

I say go for it.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't want our people ending up center stage at a circus.

Said like a man not that concerned with the return trip. But you have a solid point.

Well I'm pretty sure we can think of a way to send them packing just in case we do get a few. Worse comes to worse, I'm a pretty good shot with a paintball gun...

Might as well make the best of it, even if it's a one way trip. Besides, kind of seems like a waste playing it safe.

I'm not sure ending up as the mysterious small town that paintballs all invaders would be a step up, but lets call it a back up plan?

See, you were convincing except that "one way trip" part. I like my trips two way.

Would rubber bullets be more effective? Fine, it can be plan B.

Well we don't actually know it's a one way trip. Maybe you might get lucky.

I like the paint idea better. At least then we can make it colorful.

I could strap a rope onto the wings and let someone reel me back in, just in case. Low tech safety net.

I'll have to stock up on the neons then, just in case.

Would that work though? You'd sort of have to hope nothing snagged the rope or that whoever was holding it was strong enough to tug you back in case something went wrong. Shit. Now I've talked myself out of just running through one to check it out.

Everything looks better in neon.

Apparently at least one of them has an open door back and forth policy, so being sensible's looking less good all the time.

Hypothetically, one of them may lead to a place that seems like Wonderland. Hypothetically. Since I definitely did not roll in it alone.

Hypothetically, I'm going to say that was a bad idea. But please tell me there were some playing cards dancing around.
