Hello everyone

[info]wyndem
Hello everyone.
Well I suppose I should introduce myself. (I believe I already know some of you. Hurray. ^__^) My name is Ronnie and I have brought to you Kenton Wyndem, Circle Enchanter and Battlemage. He's the son of two knights of Redcliffe but grew up in the Tower of course.

Ummm, real fast about his character, Kent's very much a classic nerdy scholar. His favorite pass time is reading and he likes to know a little bit about everything. Despite being a mage he likes to rely on thinking and logic than magic. And believes that almost every answer needed can be found in a book.

He's a bit quiet and reserved, generally okay with staying in the background with his thoughts or a book. But he's not unfriendly. Just a little socially awkard at times.

In battle Kenton is a fierce companion. He prefers to stay on the frontlines with the warriors using glyphs and electrical/ice magic to bolster the frontline and hinder/stun/general crowd control the enemies. He's also rather wreckless with his life in order to protect and help the others.

He'll be joining group 3 in Gwaren, as he's been staying there studying the potential for rune-crafting agents in the Brecilian Forest.

I guess that's gone on too long now. If you wanted to know more about him you can check out his bio. Ummm, looking forward to RP-ing with you guys!

'Allo! Bonjour!

[info]guillemette
It is I, player of [info]signyature and [info]lucressia, fighting the urge to do this entire intro post in badly put-together pseudoFrench, but I shall somehow pull through! I'm picking up a third character. This is Chevalier Guillemette Sybille d'Abbevilliers-Roissy, chevalier of Orlais, woman with way too much name. (Blame her parents? or her entire society, either one.)

To sum up, briefly, she is a lady chevalier, young and mostly inexperienced and incredibly, extremely, astronomically innocent. (She may not fit the content 100%, but she really approaches the name of this trope at times.) She's an idealist and a believer, and has been sheltered enough from the way the world works that it's possibly a wonder that she can function without her brain exploding. She's nice enough, though, if excessively Orleasian. She's got rose-tinted goggles in 3D. And accompanying surround-sound. She also has an ancestor who was involved in the conquest of Ferelden—and an ancestor who was subsequently involved in Orlais being kicked right back out of Ferelden. (Can you say awkward.)

And she's headed to Gwaren on a fetch quest honorable, knightly retrieval of an item that is purported to have great emotional significance for her mentor (despite the fact that it never belonged to her mentor at all and means nothing to her, but Guillemette doesn't know that). I'll be posting to the G3 planning thread in a bit (because surprise shock, being in Gwaren, that's who she's joining), but I'm up for plots and background ideas!

[info]oros
hullo again! I'm back with character number three and now that I have eyes and ears in EVERY GROUP I'm done... mwahahahahhahahahhahahaha...

anywho. This here is Terin Oros, older brother to Arya Oros. All his information is in his journal, but basically he was born and raised in Denerim. his two younger siblings were taken by the Tevinter slavers before the Battle of Denerim. His mother died of a broken heart soon there after and when the Bligh was done ravaging the city and killing off the only two remaining family members he had, he helped rebuild the Alienage and then ran off to find the Dalish. he found Lanaya's clan (or rather, they found him) and made himself at home there and has been there ever since.

he's a pretty reserved guy, though in finding the Dalish he has warmed up a bit. he's got a wife and a five year old son. I'm open for so much backscenage it's not even funny. LET'S DO THIS.

I don't know why I'm so hyper... I just am right now >.>

And now, an introduction!

[info]arja_serik
WHY HELLO!
Greetings to all of you out there in the internets! It's wonderful to meet you! (Well some of you I already know. Yes, it's everyone's favorite anti-social Asian soldier from the ME RP!) Anyhow! I'm Tamara and I'm so very pleased to introduce Arja Serik. A surface dwarf who was born and raised in Gwaren by her banished warrior mother and second gen surface dwarf father (and her grandparents too)!

Arja's a sweet girl, friendly, and she loves music. (Hey she's a bard... what do you know? How'd that happen?) When she's not out hunting with her trusty crossbow or sitting around playing a tune on her lute, she works as a bar maid in a local pub. Her life, so far, hasn't been extremely extraordinary, but maybe that'll change... >_>. XD

Since she's living in Gwaren, she'll be hitting up with Group Three eventually! And I'm so excited that I just can't stand it!!! (Patience Tamara... patience.) But! Until then I'm definitely open and available for future plotting or backscenes. Sadly, since she's never left the coastal city, it'd have to be with someone who's traveled there.

Okay, I promised myself I wouldn't ramble. (Which I already have...) So I'll end it there. Let me just say, in closing, that I'm sooo looking forward to RP-ing with all of you! And I'm so pleased to be here! <3

/zooms away to try and catch up with the plot thread!

[info]chasind
Heeyyy everyone! I'm not sure exactly what to say to introduce myself (I suck at intros), but I guess I'll just make it up! My name is Hilary, and some of you may know me from Lord of the Rings, Marvel, DC and Resident Evil games. Those are basically my fandoms that I get all fangirly about, but I figured I'd try out Dragon Age after I was recommended here by [info]coan! More about me? I'm an Advertising student up in the Great White North of Canada, I have a degree in English and I absolutely love fantasy, RP, and creativity as a whole! I'm also way too nice and gullible for my own good, haha.

I'll be bringing a pretty unique character into this RPG. My character's name is Aedre, and yes, she has just one name, and she comes from the Korcari Wilds. Crazy, right?! Well, she is one of those long-hated and feared Chasind Wilders that they talk about in the start of Origins. Because of this, she can't really have much backstory with your characters unless they happened to go into Korcari and found her village. Often the Dalish have encounters with the Chasind, so that is certainly plausible if you like!

Otherwise, Aedre will simply be stumbling less-than-gracefully on the Group Two people! She knows the Korcari Wilds better than most, and will have a lot of experience trudging around the massacre that tends to go on down there every Blight. She is a shaman of the Chasind people, which of course means that she's a mage, and more particularly is a mage that excels in nature magic. I haven't really familiarized myself with the plot yet because I had school earlier today, but I'm about to mosey on over there and read up.

But yes! If you would like to chat with me about plotting, or even just talk, you can find me on aim at salut etoile! I am quite good at talking, which anyone will attest to, so please do not be shy. I will not refuse to talk to you, ever! If I don't reply it's probably because I'm AFK. Also, commenting here is awesome because then I can talk to you when I'm in class and on my phone. lmao.

well hello hello hello

[info]arya_oros
Hello loverly people of this Dragon Age RP! Some of you already know me (yes, that crazy mad genius over in the ME RP), but for those of you who don't, I'm Ashley and I present for your entertainment, Arya Oros. She was born in the Elven Alienage in Denerim, but at five years of age was kidnapped by those nasty Tevinter slavers that Loghain was so buddy-buddy with. Help came a little too late and she was shipped out to spend the next nine or so years as a slave before joining a rebellion and managing to escape.

She's since been on the road home to find a family that she barely remembers - and of course, when she gets there, most of them died in the Siege of Denerim when the darkspawn attacked. She has one last brother supposedly still alive who left the alienage to look for the Dalish, so she practically sets out immediately to try and find him.

Thus, I'll be joining those of you heading towards the awesome woods with the talking trees :D

Arya has been to Nevarra and Orlais (both the capital cities), so if anyone wants to do a backscene of any sort or possible plottage, I am open to pretty much anything. Arya is a pretty friendly elf by all accounts, and wants to work towards peace between the elves and the humans...but the elves need to have rights first! She isn't big on violence but knows how to take care of herself. What's most telling about her is the need to help pretty much anyone or anything that crosses her path, though, so I doubt she'll take much convincing in helping out with the fight against the coming Blight.

So helllllooooo!!!!

*skips off to begin reading the plot thread...*

[info]armstead
Really, this BAMF doesn't need an introduction. You all know him already. He's been here since day one, bitches. He's just gotten an upgrade/promotion from NPC, is all. Yeah, that's right. I'm just posting this for your benefit, in case you were living under a rock this whole time. This? Is Ser Talfryn Armstead, aka Ser Awsumsauz. He's the Knight-Captain of Gwaren. He serves the Teyrna, with whom he has never been and never will have an affair. They're just BFFLz, is all. He's married to an ex-hooker, but don't let anyone know that, because she's a classy broad and he loves her and she makes amazing stews. He also has three great kids that he misses. And now he's on some crazy quest to help end the Blight and keep an eye on his surrogate son, Coan, even if the boy is grown-ass man/Grey Warden now and doesn't really need a babysitter (except he totally does). He really just wants to go home to his wife and his bbz...but he's gotta kick ass and take names first. Sorry, Armsteads.

Yeah. That's pretty much it. He's been chilling with Group One for like...this entire game already. But you're still welcome to harass me about plotz and backstory and whatnot. If you dare. 8| (no, really, i'd love it. HARASS ME.)

[info]brennanwulfe
Yo. It's Hughes with her second character, the lovely Brennan Wulfe.

Brennan is also from the same village as Imenry, and is an old friend of hers. He is tall, 31, single and likes long walks around Lake Calenhad ... oh wait, I mean ... He is a mage, a battlemage specifically, and will be joining up with Group 1. He has been wandering Fereldan (mostly the north-western part but we can stretch that) for the past year, and spent most of the two years before that in Orlais.

He's incredibly friendly, and likes to know people. He teases people and enjoys pushing people's buttons. He doesn't trust easily, but when he does he'll be loyal to the death. While he is kind and compassionate normally, in a fight he can be vicious and unforgiving. He is not too fond of Templars, given his experiences with them over the years, since he is an 'apostate'. He firmly believes in his gods, and finds the Chantry's views to be odd and incomprehensible, although he has learned to not be vocal about it. He can be manipulative, but he hates it despite the fact it has become a necessary part of his life. He can be quite the charmer, oftentimes completely unintentionally, and loves women. Elves and Dwarves are still new to him so he finds them fascinating.

Backstory? Future plot?

[info]aghas
HI! Soooooo this is character number two for me (Æolyn). I couldn't help myself. I fell in love with the name Roran when I read "Eragon" and had to use it so here she is (yes I realize Roran was a dude in the books, but its better name for a girl imo)!!

And because of my unholy love of numbered lists and the fact that I'm trying to update my boyfriend's iPod here is an overview of her personality:
1) she's 24 years old
2) born in Redcliffe to a barmaid
3) father was a traveling rebel that her mother thought she was in love with... ahhhh young love -__-
4) mother remarried when she was six to a Redcliffe guardsman
5) Tristan Langley (step-father) started teaching Roran to fight when she was nine
6) Kahlyn, Roran's mother, discovers she's pregnant with a second child
7) the Fifth Blight begins that year, Ark Eamon falls ill, the attacks on Redcliffe begin and the Warden's save the day, inspiring Roran to want to become a Warden.
8) Tristan is sent off to fight in the battle of Denerim and Kahlyn later gives birth to a son, Brynn Langley
9) Tristan returns home from the war with an injured leg but otherwise unharmed
10) Roran joins the Redcliffe guard and starts training with them while training her little brother to fight as well
11) one evening while sparring with him as their mother washed clothes nearby, their mother is captured by bandits who demand money. Roran gives them everything she has on her (which isn't much) and when the bandits say they should kill her mother out of principle, she yells at them and charges. they drop her mother and run for their lives but when Roran turns back to her mother and brother she finds that her mother hit a rock when the bandits released her and fractured her skull, bleeding out.
12) Roran goes into a depressive state for a week before Brynn finally breaks it and Roran decides its best to pour her emotions over the loss of her mother into her training rather than wasting her life away.

Andddddddd that's her history. as for her personality... she's an Andrastean and doesn't know of other religions, so in her mind her's is the only one that exists. She won't mean to offend anyone with other religions when she learns about them but she probably will. I apologize in advance. She's very loyal to the crown and the laws set forth, including the laws on magic. She believes that magic is evil and that all the mages should be locked away for life. She's rather naive on the subject of mages, which is what breeds her hatred. She believes that any mage outside the Circle is maleficar and is deathly afraid of them. Well she's afraid of any mage really, not just maleficar.

She's a tomboy because of the lifestyle she's chosen. Growing up she'd rather have play fought than have played with dolls, so she's always been seen as "one of the boys" and thus has never really had a romantic relationship. She probably wouldn't even realize she had feelings for someone if that were to happen. She might think she has indigestion or something. She's rather short for a human (4'11") and a woman, so those are her two main faults. She's always trying to compensate for those facts and pushes herself the extra mile even when she may not need to. She over thinks things because of those qualities and it sometimes costs her time and judgment.

That is Roran in a nutshell. It's better written in her bio as I'm sure you all know. She's never left Redcliffe so she'll be joining Group One. I'm game for any lines with anyone really so lets hear what you have to say!!! :D

I'M IN THE BAND!

[info]elsavargas
Jo here, who plays Jill and I never thought I'd see the day, but here I am with a second char!
This is Elsa Zerbino Vargas, an Antivan mage who until recently had lived all her life in the Tower there. Due to a sudden pregnancy she fled and ended up getting thrown off the ship when the crew found her. She survived, but lost the baby and her memories too. Since then she has been wandering Ferelden aimlessly, something telling her to keep going even if she can't remember what.
She has pretty interesting dreams, since she does not remember being a mage and does not understand that she enters the Fade at night. Her magic is still as strong as ever, but her grasp of it is not very concious, she acts more on impulse and in self defence.

As far as personality goes, Elsa has rather little of that, since she does not remember who she is. She sees everything with fresh eyes, and is able to find even the most mundane things interesting. She comes from a culture where women has a weak standing, but as she doesn't actually remember this, she is learning to be more of her own person.

And since I'm sleepy, just check out her bio for all the details I'm too sleepy to cram in here. I'm really looking forward to having another character, and a mage at that. Sadly, she hasn't travelled until the last 2-3 months, so backscenes might be hard to manage, but I'm hoping for many interesting present day interactions! :)

I wear I'm not usually this eccentric...

[info]aeolyn
Hello, hello, hello!!! Forgive my hyperactivity. I had a pretty awesome ride on my horse this evening and then came home to find I'd been accepted here and now my hyper high has beeen extended haha. Onto introductions!

This is Æolyn M'Haaren (alt + 146 = Æ and pronounced as just an "a"). She doens't really have a nickname so you're more than welcome to give her one. She was born to traveling merchants, though when she born they hadn't started traveling. Her mother lived in the alienage in Denerim and met her father when he was on a business trip, bringing one of his cutomers the meat he'd paid for. It was love at first sight... the only problem was that her mother was set to marry someone else in six days. And so the young couple ran away and set up shop in Lothering. Her father had a hunting business where he sold meat and pelts to certain customers. Her mother began tailoring light armor and other pieces of clothing from the pelts and hides they collected and selling them as well.

A year after they moved to Lothering, Æolyn was born. They remained in Lothering for three more years before her father decided to take their business on the road. He had many clients in many cities that would only work with him, so instead of leaving home for weeks at a time, he took home with him. When Æolyn was six she began showing signs of magic. Instead of letting the Chantry take her to the tower, her parents took her to her father's old Dalish clan and asked that they train her. They agreed and so Æolyn stayed with them for the next five years. Two years into her training, the Fifth Blight happened, forcing her parents to abandon their traveling lifestyle and seek refuge with the Dalish. after the Grey Wardens helped the clan, her father was moved to volunteer with the Dalish army. he was injured in the battle of Denerim, but survived. Æolyn was with the Dalish for three more years before completing her training and returning to life on the road with her family.

For her 20th birthday, her parents spent a few days in Denerim. During those days, Æolyn fell in love with city life and told her parents she wasn't leaving. She said it was time for her to figure out what she wanted to do with her life, and so she stayed behind. She was able to live with some old friend's of her mothers and set up a fruit and vegetable stand to make money. Her parents visited whenever they could, but recently she hasn't heard from them and its caused her to become concerned. She has since left Denerim and set out to find her family, starting in her hometown of Lothering.

Growing up, Æolyn has always felt rather protective of those around her and its because of this that she's specialized in being an arcane warrior. When she was little, the first spells she learned were fire and cold and from there she added electricity, death and telekinesis. Along with being protective she's a pretty laid back person. She likes just about everyone and if she doesn't like you its because you're doing something she deems terribly wrong. There are a few people she tolerates, but those are even few and far between. While she's kept her magic pretty secret, she's more than willing to do whatever it takes to find her parents.

And I'm sorry that's reallyreally long (least it seems long to me haha) but like I said... I'm super hyper and totally stoked on getting to play :D

edit;; OH and you can call me Manda... or Æolyn whichever is easiest for you all haha.

Greetings!

[info]lilliofthenight
Hello everyone! This here is Lillian, better known as Lillie! She is a human mage who has spent the last fifteen years living in Rivain and working there in a brothel. Before that she was employed at the Pearl, but due to an unfortunate display of her powers during the attack on Denerim when the Wardens faced the Archdemon there she had to flee the city.

She has since returned, looking for her friend and another Pearl worker, an elven woman who she has maintained contact with via letters. I suspect that she may have been taken by slavers, as this is currently running rampant in Denerim. Lillie herself was borne of an elven mother, though she is fully human thanks to their overpowering genetics in Thedas.

While in Rivain she trained to better use her spells and learned to become a spirit healer. Thus her speciality is in healing and she is definitely more one with gifts of support magic rather than straight up attacks, so she certainly relies on others in battle.

Personality wise she is extremely down to earth. She is a mature woman and despite her station in life harbors no anger about it. She is generally a happy person and while not innocent she is certainly not jaded, even though she is realistic. She sees no shame in being a brothel worker, but nor is she attached to it as an occupation.

I look forward to bringing her into the RP and interacting with everyone! If you're interested in making a connection or learning more please feel free to check out my journal or leave me a comment! You can also usually find me around as I'm Imenry's player. ^_^ Thanks guys!

[info]saelac
Hi all you happy people! I be Hughes, and this be Cyril of House Saelac. I am here to join this parade of dreams.

Cyril is (was?) of the warrior caste back in Orzammar, and he came topside to fight off the last Blight. Whereupon he was terribly wounded and it took him about two years to recuperate. The first few months he stayed in Denerim with his cousin (actually his fifth cousin once removed, but who is counting?) because he couldn't be moved. And than after that he stayed because he was already there and going home might make him casteless and even if they didn't he'd have to go back to darkspawn killing. So he stayed.

He's been in Denerim for the past fifteen years, and he's had his shop open for the past fourteen. His shop is one of the few all stone shops in the market, because he's burned it down twice and blown it up once when it was fragile wood construction. He's very eccentric but also good at what he does - mostly making traps for his own amusement and occasionally selling them, although his biggest moneymaker is repairing and refurbishing weapons and armor.

When all is said and done though, he's pretty much ready to get back to Darkspawn killing (being a merchant is only fun for so long...) at least - if he can bring himself to walk outside! He'll be joining group three.

Edit: Pertinent information. He's a dwarf, warrior, Champion. Aged 52, going grey and has enjoyed the surfacer food a bit too much to fit into his old armor. He fights with a greatsword.

Hope to be playing with you all soon!

AROOO BABY.

[info]edgewalker
[info]azabeth/[info]skald_hilda here! Guess who got approved~ :D

Garrett Edgewalker is, for those who haven't been in the IRC chat to taunt him, a former werewolf and descendant of the Brecilian Forest pack, Swiftrunner's son, to be specific. (The yellow eyes, and holyshit resemblance to his dad make this pretty obvious.) He grew up furry and manifested as a mage after the curse was broken, and after making a massive mistake, got essentially exiled from his pack. He will be meeting up with G2 somewhere north of Lothering.

All you need to know about Garrett is in the line, blunt as a board to the face. No sugarcoating here, folks! If you look fat in that dress, Garrett will happily tell you. On the other hand, he's highly unlikely to lie to you if you ask him something - even if it's about his werewolf heritage. Garrett looks forward to peering down you ladies' blouses. <3

Now, to hunt ICONZ.

[info]demetir
Hello!  This is Ordhan, having finally given in to the secondary character bug that bit me ages ago.

May I present to you Demetir Jorunn, a sewwenteen eighteen-year-old surface dwarf.  Formerly a promising lad of the warrior caste, he's been stuck on the surface ever since a dare gone wrong got him shut out of Orzammar.  The time since then has been spent keeping pigs for an elderly human woman--quite the step down from the pampered lifestyle he had known, but it kept food in his stomach, and while hard of hearing and a little senile, the woman was someone to talk to.  Her recent death left him wandering again.  The rumors of increasing Darkspawn activity have stirred memories of an honorable heritage and the destiny he was trained for.  This time, he hopes to find something to do with himself grander than being a swineherd.

Demetir is a pest, a showoff, and as clingy as heck, but far from useless.  Among the few remaining possessions from Orzammar are his twin daggers, and he took care to never forget the instruction he received.  He's also very good at being inwwisible stealthy if you can get him to stop talking for long enough.

There's a bit more about him in my bite-sized bio.  I'm hoping to aim him at Group 1, but will be figuring that out soon.  I'm looking forward to inflicting him upon you all!

The New Girl : Chanter Davor

[info]ekaterinadavor
Hello world! It's [info]cormac_murrough and [info]pavak_sethi here with another character (yes three!) because really, they're like Pokemon. I had to have one of each class!

So this little lady is Chanter Ekaterina Davor, a recent transplant from Nevarra. She's not much of a conversationalist, sadly, but she is a crack shot with a bow and her woodland friends don't mind her inability to hold a normal conversation. She's also a great listener, and enjoys being around other people, observing everything that  goes on around her. I'll be posting my ideas on how to  meet up with a group on the appropriate thread, but in the meantime, if you want a bit more of her history check out her summary.

Looking forward to kicking some Darkspawn derriere with all of you!

Greetings Fereldens!

[info]jillsorrel
I be Jo, the new girl! To celebrate that Jill was accepted, I first did the dance of win, and then ate a lot of chocolate too quickly. Right now I’m therefore both nervous and slightly ill.

Jill is a horse messenger for Teyrn Fergus Cousland. She grew up on a horse farm outside of Highever, riding, tending horses and generally being tomboyish.
When she was 19, she went to work for the Teyrn, and has lived in the barracks of Castle Highever ever since, departing now and then for errands all over Ferelden. Since then she had had a lot of crazy adventures, and some merely tragic ones.
Jill enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her horse Salma, and shooting pointy projectiles at evil darkspawn. She is rather feisty, but can see the joke in almost anything.
Oh, and she will most probably swoop down upon group 3.

Jill is a friendly person and well travelled, so perhaps you have met her?

(Check out her bio for random stories of her happy horse-filled childhood, or just ask!)

[info]scoibran
Hello, everyone. This is Kimberly ([info]tahal and [info]mathieu), with her third character. Because this game is a drug, seriously. But anyway.

This is Simon Coibran, who some of you might recognize from Dee's little 'character's I've met' post. Yes, he was snatched from within the ranks of an NPC and made into a PC. He's a young Templar, having just taken his vows in the past year or so. And...he's not a very good Templar. He spent the majority of his childhood in the employ of a noble family in Denerim, and was never really immersed in the lore of the Chantry and all that. So while he's very good at faking it, he lacks some of the blind devotion that is expected of Templars. He does his job, but he's well-known for questioning the means and methods of his order. He started his Templar training later than most, thanks to the Darkspawn killing his mother (he doesn't know who his father is) and the noblewoman they worked for. He had nowhere else to go, so a Templar took pity on him and took him to the Chantry, where he started his training (someone saw some promise in him. Personality-wise? Well, he's a bit of a smart alec. Okay, a lot of a smart alec. He's almost always got something smart to say in response. He's good at what he does, even if he doesn't wholeheartedly believe in it. And I'm rambling. If you'd like to know more, please refer to his biography or ask! Past connections are very welcome, as well.

[info]elerron
Sooo. This is Galen Elerron, he's a city elf gone wild who ran away to the Dalish, and actually succeeded in his pursuit of the legendary forest clans. He was born in the Highever alienage, buuuut after some tragedy and mishaps and setbacks, spent roughly a year in Denerim before he moved on to the Brecilian Forest, where he's been living since the middle of 9:44. His older sister, however, still lives in Denerim and fell to the vices of thievery and gang life, etc. His tl;dr bio is located here for your perusal -- he'll be joining up with Group 3 once they hit the Brecilian and find the clan who took him in, buuuut there is plenty of room in his history for backscenes with various people who may have been in the region until then.

Personality-wise, Galen's overall not a mean or bad person; in fact, he's actually quite nice and polite (even to shemlen's faces, though he does blame them as a race for just about everything that's gone wrong in his life), but circumstances have led to him being less noble or sensitive and more resourceful and self-centered, if not manipulative and kind of a douche. I look forward to plotting with youse guyse and getting to play his bitter little elven self...after I am done with these many tags for Bethen. D:
