Guess what? Owlie (short for Owliver because eleven year old Kir had been a dork who liked terrible puns - a trait he had in common with seventeen year old Kir) glided silently through the night with more dignity than his name suggested he would have. For a first night back, things had been surprisingly eventful, and Kir felt that he had a reasonable amount to put into a letter, which was kind of handy cos he’d pretty much planned on writing to Zevalyn regardless. Now there was actual content and not just moping.
Owlie landed gently on the windowsill, deciding that it would be rude to tap, seeing as the curtains were still drawn, and thus waited instead for them to be opened and to be noticed, closing his eyes against the morning sun as he did so. He had a feeling he was going to get rather familiar with flying this particular route, but trusted Zevalyn would have treats in return for the letter tied to his leg.
Dearest Zevalyn,
Guess who got Head Boy? Hint, I'm very happy about it. Natalie got Head Girl, which is kind of surprising, and perhaps leads me to wonder whether those voting were going for "fun" people. I didn't know I was "fun" - I would have thought Isaac would be that candidate, I thought I was just weird. Anyway, don't look a gift horse in the mouth and all that - especially one that makes the Gentleman's Club so very irate. Parker and Gary got prefect too (and Dorian and Peyton) so no one had better mess with the DnD group. We are packing some serious power.
Following on from last year's theme of keeping seventh years worked to death whilst trying to sit their exams, we have 'team challenges' this year. Given that they're surprises and meant to be accessible to most grade levels, I think my tactic will be not trying too hard to 'prep' because I don't see how I can, and just getting on with my life. I just hope I don't end up with someone super competitive who wants me to put together some kind of training schedule.
School is so weird without you, even if we wouldn't sit together at the feast, I still kept noticing how you weren't there. I miss you already, and I can't wait until Midterm. I'm counting down the days already.
