NANO Challenge 1 Gia shook the handles of the door as hard as she could, but the magical locks refused to budge. “Please let me out!” She screamed, hoping someone was on the other side or that she could be heard through the walls. Gia pounded and kicked at the door, trying as hard as she could to break them open. She knew it was of no use. She and her brother had been trying to get out since the moment they had been placed there, but she needed to do something or else someone was going to get hurt, or worse.
Her brother’s cries brought her attention to him and she watched in horror, as her brother’s body twisted and contorted in ways that no human body should ever have been able to do. His nose and mouth elongated to become a snout, his arms and legs bent backwards and lengthened as thick fur began to sprout from his visible parts. She could remember his screams when she was a small child, back when they had him locked up in the basement of their old cottage in Greece, hidden away in the words where no one could hear them. But it had been so long that she had forgotten how it sounded.
“PLEASE LET ME OUT! PLEEEEEASE!” She begged, her knuckles beginning to bleed from pounding so hard on the door. “HE HASN’T TAKEN HIS POTION! HE’LL KILL ME!” She yelled, repeatedly, hoping against all hope that someone would care to save her. Her heart stopped from pure fear when she realized that her brother’s screams of agony had turned into grunts and snarls. Gia slowly turned from the door to where her brother had once been. There he stood on all fours, a wolf. His wolf. His demon. His curse. His cold blue eyes locked onto her.
“No, Jax. It’s me. It’s Gia!” She tried, speaking in Greek in hopes that their native tongue would reach him. He bared his teeth to her as he crouched low. “Please!” Gia cried, but that only riled him and the wolf pounced from his position coming at her ready for his treat. Her screams could be heard through the walls of the house before abruptly being cut off.
