Hello, everyone! So, I'm going to start this off by saying that I'm kind of super nervous. Mostly because I don't typically play the character type that isn't, well, nice! Not to say Staton here is mean but, well, he can be. He's coming in as the cynic and single. I feel like his back story is kind of cliche a bit boring at the same time, however, I tend to tweak things a lot as I really get to know my characters over time. I'm also nervous because this seems like an amazing community that I've wanted to join for forever but never actually did until now. I'm sure you're all absolutely wonderful though and that's why I want lines with as many of you as I can possibly get!

Basically Staton Gorbel is from Long Island, New York. He's 21 and currently lives in the Bronx but attends the Borough of Manhattan Community College where he is in his second year. He works in Times Square at Red Lobster and is quite honestly making just enough money to pay his rent and eat at least once a day (he's not starving or dying or anything, you know how college students are!). His parents were teenagers when they conceived him and so his family life hasn't ever been a spectacular one. I'm keeping his voice true to life so he doesn't exactly sound like the manliest of men and he's very much out as far as his sexuality goes but not by choice. He's actually never even admitted it he's just always gone through life with people assuming, even his father who is a police officer and the least proud of him.

I'd honestly love anything anyone has to offer as long as we can talk about it a little first! I'm pretty open minded and would be up for quite a lot but if I'm not comfortable with an idea or I don't think it'd really fit then I'll let you know for sure. I know this isn't much information to go off but I hope we can at least see if a few ideas, even generic ones, can be tossed around. He is in need of everything.

	i can offer jules here for something! there's a bit of an age gap, but if he likes any sort of comic stuff, she's the manager of a store in manhattan, or i'm sure they could have met randomly elsewhere. (Reply to this) (Thread)

I can definitely see him wandering in. he'd probably never buy anything but stand in the aisles and look at the pictures and sneak to read them. maybe one day she catches him since he's in there at least once a week or something? the next time he stopped in he would have brought her a bag of twizzlers or something because in his mind it had to count for something since he wasn't actually spending money. maybe since then whenever he goes he brings her a random treat just to stand in the aisle and read a comic without having to buy it and they're friends enough to occasionally hang out? feel free to say no or if it doesn't work :)

	I'd love a close friend line if you're up for it! Shiloh is a little bit older, but he's super mellow and laid back and very easy to get along with. He could put up with Staton's cynical ways for sure, and try and bring him out of that realm from time to time. (Reply to this) (Thread)

I would love a close friendship. I think if someone was actually immune to his pessimism it'd be nice since he doesn't know how to process things differently without someone to influence it. I also think if he actually trusts someone it will help him develop. I think I read your bio last night... I know Shiloh does something with clothing. if what I remember is actually accurate, maybe they met when staton came into the store to look around (he window shops like its his job) and got caught up in the moment and while he'd taken up so much time letting Shiloh help him pick things out and try things on, leading him to believe he was a serious shopper, he actually had no intentions of purchasing anything at all.

	Marcos brother is a cop and his dad is a retired chief who didn't take it well at all when Marco came out. If nothing else, something they can relate to each other on. Or we can do one of those dads are old friends because of the force kind of things. I'm happy to brainstorm a back line or just have some random encounter (Reply to this) (Thread)

I was hoping someone out there would have a cop father too! im actually up for either one of those possibilities myself. I'm tryin to think how they'd meet in order to know about the commonality--whether it be the chance encounter or a thicker plot. maybe they could have met at a yearly picnic thing that gets held during the summer? I'm not sure how many years are between the two of them but their fathers would have brought them whether they wanted to or not. at least have that as a starting point, I mean?

Marco's got five years on him. And when he was younger his father would have been the chief so Marco and his brothers and sister would have been dragged around to meet everyone's families during those kind of things. But Marco has always been very inclusive about things so the age gap wouldn't have bothered him in the least. He was an overprotected shy kind of kid and did everything his father wanted him to up until the age of 22. The last time they likely would have seen each other would have been at least 4 years ago, but we could even say before that if you wanted. Give a little back story like that so they can have a little reunion of sorts.

okay so this might be a bit of a stretch and if it is please feel free to tell me no but since they've got quite a few years in age difference we could still use the whole meeting one another in the past type thing and it could be either when staton was 12/13 and marco was 16/17 and just occasionally saw one another once or twice more since then for the same sort of get together they were both dragged to. staton would have been scolded a lot in front of everyone for being too prissy and not wanting to play any of the sports if one were involved at any of the events or something and more than likely stormed off on more than one occasion. if that works out for you then it sort of gives them enough of a pallet to develop from that point on for whatever their future relations may be. it'd just be a matter of them stumbling upon one another again... i'm sorry if this is all a mess, it's been a long day.

I thought I replied to this before but that's all good for me. And Marco was big on sports shoe probably would have tried to encourage Staton to play but in a way that it looked like he was playing but not actuallyhaveto get too involved. And Marco didn't realize he was into guys until he was 22 because head a steady girlfriend from 16 to 22 that he planned on marrying, so when he started going through the hard time with his father newfound have started thinking of Staton

That was awesome. I definitely had to read it a couple of times. I'm via iPad right now too so if I have the same issue there's a fair warning, haha. But I think that sounds great. Especially because Staton has never actually come out its always just been assumed and so when it's brought up outside of his own terms he gets extremely offennded. It'd be awesome for them to reconnect somehow though so if you ever get any ideas for that don't be afraid to shoot them by me! Even if it's just them talking on aim or via comments/texts

	Kelvin may have run into him if he visits shloh at work often or possibly at Shiloh's house. Or, if your kid was ever in the Manhattan area and got into any kind of accident, Kelvin might have operated on him. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	oh i'm sure he'll have some reason for him to have an accident at some point! but since he's dating shiloh and staton and shiloh are supposed to be close then he more than likely knows kelvin at least to some degree. maybe he's been a third wheel on one or two occasions when the couple has gone out on the town or grabbed a bite to eat or simply just hung out (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Third wheel works for me as well as any potential accident. Kelvin will probably drag him to a few of Shiloh's shows so he's not sitting there along, that is if your guy doesn't mind having to listen to him gush now and again. He tries not to do it too much. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	There'd be nothing wrong with that. Kelvin is kind of used to embarrassing questions. Working in the ER brings out a lot in people so he'll do his best to answer. He may try to set Staton up, though he has never played matchmaker before. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I don't know particularly know where they'd connect, but I can offer Giovanni up for something. He's usually fairly easy to get along with, so that might play into their favor. He's more a realist than a cynic, but he isn't annoyingly optimistic. (Reply to this)
