Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
okay, i am back and ready to plot. this is jennie savorski and she's 33 years old and her premade is the workaholic. she is the new segment producer for msnbc and moved back into the city about two months ago. jennie grew up in massachusetts (chatham to be exact) but moved to new york city after college. she spent the next seven years in the city, working as an associate producer at mtv but was offered a job in san diego to be the executive producer of the local cbs news. however, jennie lost her job and was forced to move back to the city to start a new one with nbc. work is her entire life and she has worked very hard to get where she is today. she is a perfectionist who is attached to her various electronic devices and her brain is constantly thinking about work or ways she can improve the show. jennie has a four-year-old daughter, sophie, who was born in san francisco but conceived in new york city. the father is [info]quigleys (he has no idea) and the two were casually dating before jennie left for her new job. she didn't realize that she was pregnant until she began the job and had already made the move and decided to do it all on her own. her daughter has made her calm down (but only a little) and she is adamant about being there. she struggles with wanting it all; a career, to watch her daughter grow up, etc and will sometimes feel guilty about her devotion to her job. line-wise i could use anything for her. she lived in the city from 2000-2006/7 and came back fairly recently. some ideas i have are a new neighbor, old friends, co-workers at msnbc, a nanny for sophie, sophie's preschool teacher, other parents, etc. some lines that she already has are friendships with [info]bmoreau and [info]edevane.

i can offer pera as an old friend - she's been in the city for about ten years, so they could have met sometime before your girl left. she's 35 and a nightclub manager, but back then she would have been a bartender at a bar or restaurant. she's friendly in her own way, but can be a little standoffish at first because she's not very good at opening up to people. but she does like to be social and have a good time. she'd understand the workaholic thing, she's quite the workaholic herself. so i dunno, do you have any thoughts? i'm up for anything.

maybe they met in 2002-ish and became friends? jennie and her former mtv co-workers could have frequented the bar/restaurant that she bartended at and they became fast friends and kept in touch even after she moved?

I could potentially offer up Meghan for the nanny line.

Meghan O'Conner is about 18 weeks pregnant (she recently found out she's having a girl) but she is currently unemployed and also doesn't have a place to live (she currently lives in a women's shelter) so if the position were one that were live-in, it would probably be the most ideal for her. She's from Ireland and very religious but she's been in the states now for about 8 years and loves children, especially because in her family, she is one of six so she would be willing to also help out around the house, cook, clean, do whatever. Also, she knows ~quigleys. They met at Thanksgiving so it could potentially be interesting that she would be the nanny to his baby.

i could definitely work with this. maybe jennie's current nanny is temporary and she's currently looking for someone? she can hire her in game. it'd be live-in since jennie works weird hours and would need someone around a lot.

That would work out perfectly then. She would love to work for a single mother and her daughter, especially since she's a single mother with a daughter of her own, soon. I think the scenario would be great and it would help Meghan get out of the shelter she's living in.

Maybe we can even have an interview or something?

an interview sounds perfect to me. she would want to make sure that sophie was being left with someone reliable so a thorough interview sounds like something she would do.

Alright, well keep me posted when you app and I will go ahead and keep her job-free in the meantime so that we can work out a line but I think a lot of people are eager to get her out of the shelter she's living in so I'm not sure where she'll be living in the next week. When you're ready, I can set something up for them to write out for an interview if that sounds good to you?

I'm excited too. My girl is still fairly new so I love the chance at an interesting story like this and a new connection.

This is ~quigleys' brother so that would make him an uncle.

Would you like to say they became fast friends at NBC or knew each other when Jennie lived in nyc before?

we could say they knew one another prior to jennie moving back? maybe denise heard about the job opening and referred jennie?

yes, i like the sound of that! denise first came to the city in 2003 after she graduated college for a job, i never was specific about what it was, so maybe she worked at mtv too when jennie did?

Well Colm is also friends with ~quigleys and they live in the same building, so that adds a bit of fun to our friendship line as well!

Where did she go to college? Geoffrey grew up in Boston and went to BU. He's 31 so maybe they could have some similar stomping grounds and be friends?

Nora is a production assistant for SNY which is in the same area as the NBC studios in Rockefeller Plaza so maybe they've crossed paths.

Awesome. She'd even offer to babysit Sophie on occasion, too. Maybe if she needs an emergency contact for preschool since Nora works at night - she works the 10:00/10:30 SportsNite.

that would be lovely. sophie definitely loves her and is constantly talking about their next 'play date'.
