I just held this Kyle Chandler face and before I get into the meat of his bio, I wanted to throw him out here for possible story lines. I'm waffling between having him as a social worker/advocate for the Harlem Children's Zone or one of the borough's DAs. Either way, he's a mature, professional, a bit of a bleeding heart, originally from Texas but he's been in Manhattan for about 12 years. I'm debating on whether or not he has a child, but he's a widower (for over 12 years). He pretty much needs a whole lot of stuff - friends, co-workers, women in and out of his life, etc.

I can offer Cosette up for either a long-time friend and/or an ex if you'd like.

Can you tell me about her? What she's like and what she does.

She's a French-American fashion photographer at GQ, formerly worked for Vogue. She's very much half and half, New Yorker and Parisian which is always amusing to see the contradictions. Personality wise, she's sweet but a very independent woman. She's usually always a good go-to person, a big sister for most people, very protective of friends and has a big heart. There's a silly streak if you catch her on the right day. And as her friends tease her, she always sees the good in people initially. It takes a lot for her to think otherwise about people.

I want to throw Meghan out there because I think that this could potentially be a really great connection. Meghan is actually getting ready to move into a Women & Children's shelter. She is single and getting ready to give up her baby for adoption but adoption laws state the adopting parents don't need to provide for the mother until 60 days prior to her giving birth so she has no where else to go right now. She's been in New York for about 8 years, having moved from Ireland on a church sponsored green card.

What kind of connection did you have in mind? I'm leaning in the direction of HCZ and if I go that way, I can mainly see him in a advocate/counseling sort of role. If I do go that route, he will be very familiar with the social/welfare system of the city. I'm sure quite a number of his caseload (for HCZ, they need to carry 15-20 kids with 20 being ideal) would have been in and out of the system throughout their lives.

I'm not sure she was ever part of the system but she has no family here in the states and Meghan does need a lot of counseling right now to help get her through all of this that she's going through, especially giving up her baby for adoption.

Quinten here is from Mississippi, and I'm thinking he could very well know Quinten through his adoptive mother. His mother does a lot of volunteering in Mississippi for different women's and children's organizations. Over the years she's built a nationwide network of friends/acquaintances who do that sort of thing.

It's funny you say that; my original imagining of him had him from Mississippi. Either way, that sounds good. The more I think about him, the more I can see him traveling about immediately after his wife died and maybe doing work in some poorer cities - sort of like a domestic Peace Corps sort of pilgrimage - before he settled in New York.

Quinten would have settled in New York about four years before him. Well, not settled, really, but he went to NYU for undergrad then Columbia for grad.

It's possible Quinten's mom worked with your guy on a couple of large projects over the years and Quinten became familiar with him that way. The could have run in to each other randomly on the subway and reconnected. Quinten never meets a stranger, so they could have become friends from there.

kyra is 28 years old and has a bit of a mysterious past. she is an escort and goes out with powerful, wealthy men (and will sleep with them if they pay her enough). she's basically a paid mistress. she tends to be emotionally closed off because of her work and has few close friendships. she's cynical, doesn't believe in happily ever after, and believes that people will turn on one another eventually.

I'd love offer Remy here up for something, though I'm not sure what. He's only been back in NYC for two years (and only truly active for the past year) since he was discharged from the military, and now works as a teacher at a Brooklyn high school.

They could be familiar with each other because he's so involved in the school systems in NY? If Remy is a "tough" sort of teacher, he might have recruited him for the Harlem Children's Zone's high school age kids?

He's only just started teaching this semester. But with his military background, he's definitely not a push-over kind of guy at all. He's got no patience for kid stupidity. So it's possible Tom could recruit him to help out with the organization!

This is an organization that Shelby Lee would be involved in. She is wife of the newly elected governor and the sole heiress of one of the largest oil companies in the world and she likes to give money in support to women and children's organizations. She probably would have come in and visited with the children, too because she's hands on that way so maybe they have met before? She obviously stands out because she looks like a child herself but she is extremely giving and likes to help children, probably even moreso now that she found out she is going to have difficult having her own.

Well the HCZ would need money. I don't know how familiar you are with it, but the HCZ is a 100 block area in Harlem that is a "safe zone" for kids. Geoffrey Canada (brilliant man) got it all started and runs it. It begins with parenting education for parents and children 0-3, then moves onto preschool, elementary, middle, and then high school. There is a guarantee that kids will get into college. They run a lottery for children to start and hundreds of families try to get in because of the promise of success. It's truly revolutionary and President Obama is trying to work out neighborhoods like this in other areas like Detroit and Philadelphia. It's a whole community of educators, social workers, and people like that. So, they could definitely know each other if she's a champion for it and works to get them funding.

I did read it and I was just thinking about it. His wife had been dead for over 12 years. I'm honestly not sure about an affair since she is so young but they could definitely be friends or something if she volunteers.

Just wanted to say "YEAY" for the PB! I'm trying to find a connection between Sugar Beth and Tom, and it's eluding me, other than maybe meeting each other in NYC. Beth did live in Texas for 4-5 years, but moved to NYC in 08. She manages a Barnes and Noble and works for the governor's office, so she does know Shelby Lee.

With a return WOOHOO for yours! This is unprecedented so yes, we have to work something out. Depending on his relationship/work with Shelby Lee maybe they've met at the Governor's office? If she wants to get involved in any kind of education reform or volunteer work, he's your man.

Haha thank you. We rare PBs have to stick together, I think. As for a story, I think our guys would definitely work together. If any of his kids have records, if either of our guys need each other's help with some kids.
