Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Hello, [info]wedded!  Isaiah here has recently been accepted, so I'm gonna throw him out there for some potential lines.  I would have done it before he was accepted, but I procrastinated with prepping his bio/history, etc. and missed two add days.  He really came together just before adds last night.

Anyway, this is Isaiah Thomas: He's originally from Cleveland, Ohio; he's 28 years old and is a personal trainer.  Six years ago, his life took a turn for the worse.  In college (he attended the University of Maryland), he was a big-time football player with dreams and aspirations of making it to the big stage, the National Football League.  Isaiah suffered an injury on the very last play of his final game in school that would destroy his dream of playing professional football forever.  On top of that, before that infamous last game, he was set up by a jealous ex-girlfriend and had his engagement, to the woman he thought was the love of his life, sabotaged.  From his perspective, he had lost everything -- and all at once -- so he moved back home and became a high school football coach, to make a long story short.

Isaiah kept in touch with Micaela Arthurs ([info]mcarthurs), who he became friends with while they attended colleges that were thirty minutes away from one another.  Eventually, she convinced him a move to New York would do them both some good since he was making little progress back home, and they made it happen.  He resigned from coaching and took a job at a fitness center as a personal trainer (utilizing his degree in exercise science) when moving to New York City, starting fresh.  So, there we have it!  We can take anything (within reason, haha!) for Isaiah.  Friends, maybe someone he trains or helps exercise, anybody from the same area that he may have went to school with, if possible, anything!  Customs are very welcome.  I'll try to have him a screen name within the next few days to facilitate conversation and/or plotting.

Nora here works in sports for SNY. Her specialty is hockey, but she'd know of him since he was good and was lost to the sport. I'm toying with the idea of having her try to start playing hockey competitively again, so maybe he can be her conditioning coach. If they become friends in any way I could see her trying to talk him onto coaching football again, too.

That is not a bad idea! I like it. How long has she worked at SNY? Maybe she knew him around the time he was playing and preparing to the enter the NFL. But he can be her conditioning coach. And if she tried to talk him into coaching again, it wouldn't be a lost cause, 'cause the love and desire is still there. He wanted to try something different when he moved to New York, the reason he resigned.

She's only 24 so I don't think she'd have worked on his story first hand in any way. She would have still been in high school when he was in college, now that I work the math. She definitely would know of him, though. We'd have to go with conditioning coach, but she relates to sports/sports figures so easily that a friendship could definitely be there.

Yeeaahhh ... haha. I guess he is getting up in age. Ha! But conditioning is perfect. It's his expertise. That and strength-building. He believed being well-conditioned and his strong core is what helped him succeed on the field. I like the idea of her trying to talk him into coaching again, though.

Pera is a manager at a nightclub, she's very social and is generally a laid back type of gal. Idk what we could do, but she's available to plot.

They could have crossed paths a time or two. Or even see one another often. Isaiah recently got drunk at a club. Haha! Could've been the one she manages at.

He didnt get thrown out or anything. He just came home fuckedup! Haha.

sure, we can definitely say that was her club. she would have just cut him off at the bar and told one of her employees to get him some water hahaha but otherwise it wouldn't be a big deal, she gets that a lot.

I just did some quick research, 'cause all I had was that it was a fitness center. But probably Equinox. According to its site, ESPN calls it "the best gym in America."

Makes sense. Lee isn't really a gym guy but he's at Chelsea Piers a lot to play hockey. That said, I believe there's an Equinox right down the way from where he (and quite a few other people live) so if he works at the Greenwich village one I'm sure they've seen each other around.

That'd work. I believe it's a thirty-minute commute from where he stays, so the Greenwich Village location is the most likely location.

Kal here could be a client of his, perhaps?

How long has he been in NYC for? Kal moved there about a year and a half ago from NOLA. He's an undercover cop so staying fit for the job is pretty much a given.

Isaiah's been in New York for three years. That's what's up. He's good with conditioning, as he was a freak about his own because he never wanted to come off the field in college, so that'd work.

Sounds like a plan! I added him to Kal's storylines.

madi could use a trainer, or something along those lines. she played volleyball all throughout hs & college, and so working out has always been part of her daily routine.
